According to the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor allocated to the unit 2,000 free shopping vouchers on the online Trade Union Tet Market in 2025. Each voucher is worth 500,000 VND, with a total value of 1.03 billion VND.
After more than 20 days of implementation (the Tet market started operating from December 20), 100% of union members in Soc Trang used shopping vouchers to participate in shopping, benefiting from the program. This not only helps union members have the opportunity to shop economically for Tet but also promotes the application of technology in activities to support workers.
Seeing the strong demand and response from union members, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continued to allocate an additional 1,200 shopping vouchers to Soc Trang province, to ensure union members participate in Tet shopping.
As one of the earliest successful shoppers, union member Trinh Van Quang Hai - Union member of Ward 3 People's Committee (Nga Nam town, Soc Trang province) - said that he used the voucher to buy cooking spices, cakes and jams for his family to use on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025.
“I find shopping quite easy, fast and convenient. Buyers only need to provide a phone number to receive a voucher and buy directly on the website of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor without creating a bank or credit account. Goods will be shipped free of charge to the address registered by the buyer,” said union member Hai.
Ms. Trang My Nhut - Vice President of the Trade Union of HS Vietnam Chemical Company Limited, Soc Trang branch - said that 30 union members of the Trade Union successfully purchased and received the goods. "All union members are happy to receive meaningful gifts before the New Year, to make Tet more fulfilling," Ms. Nhut said.
According to Ms. Nhut, during the time before Tet, when prices of goods tend to increase while workers have low incomes, online shopping helps save time and money, especially with essential items at preferential prices.
Mr. Phan Tan Phong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones in Soc Trang province - said that the unit has been allocated 1,000 vouchers by the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation to purchase goods at the Trade Union Tet Market. The Standing Committee of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones has organized instructions for the chairmen and vice chairmen of the affiliated trade unions on how to purchase goods.
"We have also created a video instructing how to order on chotet.congdoan.vn and providing information to help members easily operate. Up to now, 100% of members have purchased products," Mr. Phong shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor, for the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market program online this year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has changed the form of support by giving direct shopping vouchers without having to open a credit card, so collecting information to make a list of proposals and implementing it at trade unions at all levels is simple and convenient.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son commented that the program "2025 Trade Union Tet Market" through the e-commerce platform has a humane and practical meaning, helping union members and workers buy goods at preferential prices, ensuring product quality. Shopping is convenient, fast and in line with the Government's digital transformation policy, applying information technology in operations and promoting the habit of cashless payment, in line with current consumption trends.
