Surprised by the valuable Tet gifts
Ms. Chieu Thi Thanh Thanh - a member of the An Thanh Company Limited's Trade Union - was one of 30 workers in difficult circumstances who received gifts from the leaders of the Da Nang City Labor Federation at the opening ceremony of the "2025 Trade Union Tet Market", held at the Lien Chieu District Administrative Center Square. Ms. Thanh was almost overwhelmed because the amount of money this year was twice as much as in previous years.
“Around this time last year, I received a Tet gift from the Da Nang City Labor Federation, but the amount was only 500,000 VND. I didn't expect it to be so much this year,” Ms. Thanh said emotionally.
Ms. Chieu Thi Thanh Thanh is one of 2,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances who received Tet gifts from the Da Nang City Labor Federation with a total value of up to 20 billion VND (including 8,000 gifts from support money from the Da Nang City People's Committee).
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Member of the City Party Committee, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: “In 2025, the number of gifts to support workers during Tet is still 2,000, the same as in 2024. However, the value of the gifts has doubled, so the amount has increased from 10 billion VND to 20 billion VND. This is the result of the efforts of the City Labor Federation, from the efforts of the Labor Federation to advise and propose to the Da Nang City People's Committee to help workers in difficult circumstances have a full Tet" - Ms. Linh shared.
More than 25 billion VND to take care of Tet for workers
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, this year, the Da Nang City Labor Federation spent more than 25 billion VND to take care of Tet for its union members and workers. In addition to 2,000 gifts for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also had many other meaningful and practical gifts and activities.
The first is the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market with the participation of 39 partners with nearly 80 booths providing essential services, selling goods at the same price, price-stabilized goods, discounts from 5 - 50% compared to market prices and many other incentives for union members, workers and employees in the city. There are 40,000 shopping vouchers, total value of 4 billion VND, awarded to union members and employees to use for shopping at the Trade Union Tet Market.
Previously, the Da Nang City Labor Federation sent 2,500 union members across the city 2,500 online shopping vouchers on the Vietnam Trade Union Tet Market e-commerce platform, with a total value of 1.25 billion VND.
The Trade Union of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, the Hai Chau District Labor Federation and the City Labor Culture House also coordinated to organize the program "Reunion Day - Welcome Spring At Ty 2025" with a series of activities such as: union welfare booths, banh chung wrapping contest, karaoke singing, displaying Tet fruit trays, Tet meals...
Organizing a delegation of leaders to visit, encourage and give gifts to workers who do not return home for Tet, single workers with difficult circumstances in the self-managed workers' groups in the dormitory area, workers at the Hoa Cam Industrial Park Workers' Housing; visiting and encouraging workers working on New Year's Eve; the program "Accompanying union officials" with meetings and encouragement for 300 grassroots union officials who have made many contributions to union activities.
In particular, this year, the City Labor Federation continues to implement the program "Union Tet Journey" from January 20 to January 27, 2025, expected to bring more than 5,000 union members, workers and their relatives back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet for free.
