Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Plan to implement the Project "Consulting and providing reproductive health care services for workers in industrial parks and export processing zones in the period 2026-2030" in the area.
The plan sets a goal to improve health, reduce diseases of reproductive health and sexual health for workers, contributing to improving the quality of life and increasing labor productivity.
According to the plan, by 2030, the city strives for 100% of localities with industrial parks and export processing zones to organize inter-sectoral inspection and supervision of policy implementation; over 50% of enterprises have regulations on reproductive health care that are more beneficial to workers in collective labor agreements; 90% of enterprises organize policy propaganda and coordinate medical examination and treatment facilities to provide services suitable to workers' working conditions.
Regarding the health system, the goal is that 80% of medical examination and treatment facilities are capable of providing basic service packages on reproductive health care for workers; 100% of specialists in obstetrics and gynecology perform the correct periodic examination procedures for female workers according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.
The city also aims for 95% of workers to receive communication and counseling on reproductive health and sexual health care; 90% to use preventive services and disease screening; 90% of workers preparing to get married to receive counseling and pre-marital health check-ups; 95% of pregnant female workers to be equipped with knowledge to prevent mother-to-child transmission.
The plan is implemented from 2026 to the end of 2030, with funds mobilized from the state budget, corporate welfare sources and other legal sources; and at the same time build pilot models in industrial parks and export processing zones to replicate when effective.
