The union always creates an environment for union members to strive to become party members
The first conference to honor 95 outstanding workers who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam - 2025 with the theme "Shining the Fore Fore Forecast Workers" is a practical activity to celebrate the 95th Spring of our Party accompanying the nation and affirming the role and responsibility of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union in participating in Party building, with one heart, one heart, one mind, steadfastly moving under the glorious flag of the Party.
Speaking at the opening of the event, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that in 95 years of implementing the mission and leadership role of the Vietnamese revolution, our Party has always attached importance to and paid attention to the work of Party building and organization, in which the work of developing Party members and improving the quality of Party members is a top priority.
Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW, dated January 28, 2008 of the Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country" stipulates: " Pay more attention to the work of training and developing the Party among workers... Gradually increase the rate of cadres coming from workers in the leadership apparatus at all levels". Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW, dated June 16, 2022, of the Party Central Committee on "Strengthening and building grassroots party organizations and improving the quality of party members in the new period" affirms the viewpoint: attach importance to the quality of developing party members, pay attention to developing party members among youth union members and trade unions...".
According to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, as a large political and social organization of the working class and the working class, the Vietnam Trade Union is always deeply aware of its role and responsibility in participating in building a clean and strong Party and political system.thoroughly grasping and implementing the tasks assigned by the Party, the Trade Union organization always attaches importance to propaganda work about the Party, political and ideological education, dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies among workers, associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; organizing patriotic emulation movements, creating an environment for union members to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The work of developing party members in general and party members among workers in particular is specified in the Resolutions of the Congress, the annual tasks of trade unions at all levels.Recent terms of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress have set the target: "On average, each grassroots trade union annually introduces at least 1 outstanding union member to the Party organization for training and admission consideration".
Implementing the Resolution, in the 2018-2023 period, trade unions at all levels have introduced more than 700,000 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of training and admission, of which the number of outstanding union members admitted reached nearly 400,000 comrades (an increase of 1.4 times compared to the 2013-2018 term).
In 2024 alone, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, trade unions at all levels introduced 158,813 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of training and admission, of which 80,327 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party; Party members who are workers account for nearly 10%.
Encourage workers nationwide to strive to become party members
In order to honor outstanding workers who are Party members with many achievements in labor and production, in training, striving, and actively contributing to Party building and building a strong Trade Union organization; thereby affirming the role and responsibility of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in participating in building the Party and the political system, the Party Committee and the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the first commendation of 95 outstanding workers who are Party members of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The program encourages workers nationwide to strive to become Party members, firmly believe in stepping under the glorious flag of the Party, further promoting the attention of Party committees and organizations at all levels in leading and directing the development of Party members among workers. 95 outstanding workers who are party members were honored today, carefully and closely selected through many rounds and levels; present in most industries, localities and at many types of enterprises. You are shining examples for union members and workers nationwide to learn and follow, creating motivation and inspiring many workers to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang: The results and experiences harvested from this Conference of Commendation, especially the opinions of delegates from the Forum Striving to be worthy of being a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam organized by the Central Organizing Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the morning of February 16, add confidence and motivation for trade unions at all levels to continue to do better in education, training, fostering, and introducing union members for the Party to consider admitting and creating an environment for workers to practice, strive, contribute and mature. The Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hopes that the typical examples commended today will not be satisfied with the results achieved, continue to strive, maintain the title of outstanding worker party member, spread achievements and experience, and encourage union members and workers to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam".
