Effectively deploying care work
Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: in the first 6 months of 2026, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has closely followed the leadership of the City Party Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the city's socio-economic development tasks, synchronously implemented tasks, and achieved many positive results.
Up to this point, the whole city manages 1,843 grassroots trade unions with 226,927 union members. The ideological and life situation of union members and workers is basically stable, although still affected by economic fluctuations, prices, digital transformation and housing and job demand.
Trade union levels continue to affirm the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers through dialogue, legal advice, participating in policy making, resolving labor disputes and supporting workers at enterprises.
Caring work has been effectively implemented with many programs such as Tet Sum vay, Trade Union Tet Market, Trade Union Warm House, Trade Union Bus Trip, Trade Union Meal... with a total budget of more than 40 billion VND; and at the same time disbursed more than 80 billion VND of preferential loans for 675 union members to develop the family economy.
Propaganda and education work has been innovated, promoting the application of digital technology, organizing many political, legal, cultural, sports and communication activities on digital platforms. The patriotic emulation movement continues to spread strongly with over 500 initiatives and technical improvements, bringing benefits of more than 100 billion VND.
Newly established 127 grassroots trade unions
Also according to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Linh, in the first 6 months of 2026, the work of building trade union organizations of the Da Nang Trade Union achieved many positive results.
In the first 6 months of the year, 127 new grassroots trade unions were established, 5,766 union members were admitted, an increase of 11, 599 union members in reality; many professional training classes were organized, digital transformation was promoted and the Da Nang Trade Union App was built. Women's affairs, finance, inspection and supervision, foreign affairs and non-business units continued to be effectively implemented.
Besides the achieved results, the work of developing union members and establishing trade unions in the non-state sector still faces difficulties; the quality of operation of some grassroots trade unions is not uniform, and the capacity of part-time trade union officials is still limited.
In the last 6 months of the year, trade union levels will focus on implementing the Resolution of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress; continue to care for and protect the rights of workers; promote union member development, digital transformation, emulation movements, women's work, inspection and supervision, and improve the quality of trade union activities to meet the requirements in the new period.
In the last 6 months of the year, the Da Nang Trade Union will overcome the identified limitations and difficulties, focus on organizing even better emulation movements, especially Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income; promote activities to care for workers.
In particular, Trade Unions at all levels will carefully survey and grasp the situation of workers suffering from critical illnesses and particularly difficult labor accidents to propose that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor provide long-term support.
Along with that, focus on building strong trade union organizations, striving to complete targets on developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.
