The latest report from ManpowerGroup on employee satisfaction in June 2025 (taken from employees in 19 countries) reveals reflective information about the gap between employee expectations and the ability of businesses to meet current needs.
The current employee satisfaction index at 68% (up 1 point compared to last year) was based on feedback from more than 13,700 employees in 19 countries. The survey results show that the global workforce is fluctuating:
82% of workers feel that their work is meaningful (increased by 2 points); the total occupational confidence index increased to 76% (increased by 2 points).
The occupational satisfaction rate decreased to 62% (a decrease of 1 point), reflecting the increasingly large gap between capacity and experience at work.
In addition, only 65% of employees feel that their work will bring stability in the next 6 months (down 6 points); 49% said their daily stress level is average to high, of which mid-level managers are most stressed (82%), followed by Gen Z (56%).
According to the survey, 89% of employees are confident in their skills and experience to complete work, but only 62% are satisfied with their current job position. Notably, 1/3 said they do not have enough opportunities to achieve their professional goals at their current company.
According to the assessment, this growing trend comes from the fact that workers are rapidly developing new skills, including emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), while many businesses are struggling to catch up. New research from ManpowerGroup on AI at the workplace shows that 81% of technology leaders said that AI application in their businesses is still in the experimental or pilot phase, only 10% of businesses have fully integrated AI into their operations. This change has made many workers feel that their talents are not being exploited properly, are not highly appreciated and lack support.
Although Vietnam is not included in the survey, experts from Manpower Vietnam said that domestic unskilled workers have practical priorities in terms of "satisfaction": Stable income, full-term salary, fair overtime and full social insurance benefits.
