Closely following the grassroots level, close to workers
Talking to Lao Dong reporters about concretizing the key tasks of the Trade Union organization in the coming time, Ms. Lam Thi Vy - Chairwoman of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, Da Nang, emphasized the consistent requirement that all trade union activities must closely follow the grassroots level, be close to workers and properly solve the issues that workers are concerned about.

According to Ms. Vy, the reality of trade union activities in the locality shows that when trade unions truly listen, accompany and support in a timely manner, union members' trust in the organization is clearly strengthened. Conversely, if activities are far from the actual needs of workers, it is very difficult to create attraction and effectiveness.
In the context of the rapidly changing labor market under the impact of digital transformation, international integration and increasingly high requirements for professional skills, trade unions need to actively participate in the process of improving the quality of human resources.
Today's workers not only need jobs but also learning opportunities, improving their qualifications to adapt to market changes. Trade unions need to coordinate with businesses, vocational training institutions and functional sectors to create conditions for workers to learn a trade, develop digital skills, soft skills and skills to adapt to modern working environments," Ms. Vy shared.
In addition, Ms. Vy believes that it is necessary to innovate the way of evaluating the effectiveness of trade union activities in a more substantive direction.
Accordingly, indicators such as the quality of dialogue at the workplace, the number of petitions resolved, the level of improvement in working conditions or the rights that workers enjoy need to become important criteria in evaluating the effectiveness of trade union activities.
Innovation from the grassroots level to build trust
Chairman of Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union said that the grassroots level is the place that determines the vitality of the Trade Union organization. Therefore, the innovation of grassroots trade union activities needs to be placed in the central position in the process of implementing key tasks in the coming time.

According to Ms. Vy, grassroots trade unions must truly become a reliable address for union members and workers, not only appearing in movements or holidays and Tet but also regularly accompanying them in daily life and work.
Workers must feel that when they encounter difficulties in labor contracts, wages, social insurance, working conditions or issues related to life, the trade union is the first place they think of," she said.
Another important task emphasized by Ms. Vy is to improve the capacity to dialogue and resolve collective issues right from the grassroots level. According to her, many labor disputes can be prevented if trade unions proactively grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers early.
Grassroots trade unions need to maintain regular information receiving channels, organize periodic dialogues between employees and employers, and promptly remove arising problems before they become prolonged grievances. Grassroots trade unions listening early and resolving early is the best way to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
Along with that, she believes that improving the quality of the contingent of trade union officials needs to be considered a key task.
In the new conditions, trade union officials not only need to be enthusiastic but also to be equipped with knowledge of labor law, skills in dialogue, dispute resolution, digital communication and professional support for workers.
According to Ms. Lam Thi Vy, if the Trade Union organization wants to develop sustainably, it must start from innovation at the grassroots level, taking union members and workers as the center of all activities.
When workers feel the companionship, are protected in their rights and are practically supported, it is also when the position and prestige of the Trade Union organization are affirmed by specific results in practice.
