From that reality, the Da Nang Trade Union determines that digital transformation is not only the application of technology in management but also the comprehensive innovation of operating methods.
Targets are set quite specifically such as building the Da Nang Trade Union App; managing union members on a digital platform; digitizing documents; processing online requests related to regimes and policies; providing welfare programs for union members through a digital platform.
Notably, the report sets a target that by the end of the term, it will gradually allow full online processing in information lookup, request sending, registration and receiving feedback on regimes and policies related to union members and trade union organizations.
This means that many procedures that must be carried out directly will be carried out in a digital environment, helping to save time for both trade union officials and employees.
In parallel with that, the Da Nang Trade Union is also deploying the construction of the Da Nang Trade Union App and gradually digitizing the organization's data system, records, and documents. This will be an important foundation for forming a digital trade union ecosystem in the future.
Workers expect many new utilities
As a worker working at Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung said that most workers today use smartphones and regularly make online transactions.
If there is a separate application of the Da Nang Trade Union later, it will be very convenient. We can look up information, register to participate in welfare programs, learn about labor policies or send petitions without having to travel a lot. The important thing is that all information will be faster and more transparent," Mr. Hung shared.
According to many union members, the application of digital technology also helps trade unions reach workers faster, especially workers working in shifts or far from the city center. Instead of waiting for meetings or focused activities, workers can access information right on their phones.
This is also a trend that is consistent with the digital transformation process taking place strongly in Da Nang - a locality that has been assessed as one of the leading localities in the country in building digital government and smart cities for many years.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said that digital transformation is identified as one of the key tasks to improve the operational efficiency of trade union organizations in the new period.
We determine that digital transformation is not an intrinsic goal but a tool to serve union members and workers better. When data is digitized, procedures are carried out online, management, care and protection of workers' rights will be faster, more accurate and more effective," Mr. Dai said.
According to Mr. Dai, building the Da Nang Trade Union App, digitizing union member data or providing benefits on a digital platform will help increase the connectivity between trade union organizations and employees, while creating more utilities for union members.
In the context that Da Nang is aiming to become a center of innovation and high technology of the whole country, the City Trade Union's choice of digital transformation is one of the three breakthroughs of great significance.
