Create all conditions for labor export
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) of Phu Yen province, in 2024, the province created jobs for more than 27,000 workers, including new jobs for nearly 6,000 workers, exceeding the assigned plan by 16%; the whole province has 360 workers working abroad for a limited period. The goal in 2025 is to create jobs for 25,500 workers.
In 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province "joined hands" to cooperate with Goryoeng district (North Gyeongsang province, South Korea) on sending and receiving seasonal workers to Korea. Phu Yen province and the Wakayama provincial government (Japan) organized working delegations to visit and work in the two localities, to promote the work of sending Phu Yen workers to work in Japan.
Mr. Nguyen Van Han (residing in Hoa Hiep Trung ward, Dong Hoa town) shared that with the desire to increase income and improve the family economy, Mr. Han decided to go to work in Korea. During the process of completing the procedures, Mr. Han was supported and consulted by the functional departments of Phu Yen province, creating favorable conditions for Mr. Han to export labor.
To help workers easily access suitable positions and jobs, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province has directed the Phu Yen Employment Service Center to organize job transaction points, attracting many workers to participate and learn about the labor market.
Vocational training associated with job creation
In 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Phu Yen province has implemented projects, sub-projects and activities related to vocational education and employment. Up to now, the province has organized vocational training for more than 10,100 people, exceeding the plan. Of which, 745 people have college degrees; 1,774 people have intermediate degrees; 7,678 people have elementary degrees and training under 3 months.
Assessing the labor market, Mr. Hoang Minh Hai - Vice Principal in charge of Phu Yen Ethnic Youth Vocational College - said that in the current period, workers must have high skills to serve businesses. Grasping the recruitment trend, the school has built a vocational training program and curriculum suitable for the trend of industrialization and modernization. The school also adjusts the training curriculum every year to be closer to reality.
According to Mr. Hai, Phu Yen province currently has 18 vocational training facilities, enrolling and teaching majors and occupations such as: welding; lathe; auto repair; computer assembly techniques; operating excavators and bulldozers; industrial sewing; fashion sewing; hairdressing; civil electricity, industrial electricity; restaurant and hotel services; European and Asian baking techniques; wood product design and processing, food processing techniques, farming techniques...
Vocational training institutions in the province are focusing on solving employment for workers after training through signing training contracts at the address of businesses, introducing jobs for workers after graduation, inviting businesses to the facility to recruit after each course... creating favorable conditions for workers to find and create jobs for themselves.
