At the end of April 2026, Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee organized the awarding of the Investment Registration Certificate for the Meiko Electronics Microchip Production and Manufacturing Plant Project to Meiko Yen Quang Electronics Co., Ltd.
The project is implemented on an area of over 80,000m2 in Yen Quang Industrial Park (IP) (Thinh Minh commune, Phu Tho). In the first phase, the project has a capital of 50 million USD and is expected to increase to over 500 million USD in the next phase. The factory's goal is to produce high-tech microchips and equipment, supplying to the global value chain.
According to the plan, Meiko Group's factory will officially go into operation in the second quarter of 2027, creating stable jobs for about 1,000 workers. This is considered a significant job resource in the context that the locality is promoting the attraction of high-tech industries.
The project focuses on the production of microelectronics and high-tech equipment - an area that requires skilled labor and modern production discipline. This opens up opportunities to shift labor from traditional industries to high-value industrial production.
Information about the microchip electronics factory project being started quickly spread in the area. Many local workers expressed excitement when expecting more job opportunities right near their place of residence, reducing the pressure to travel far or work in other provinces and cities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (resident of Yen Quang commune) said that in recent years, the fact that many domestic and foreign businesses have invested in the locality has helped people have more jobs and no longer have to go far to earn a living.
We hope the factory will be deployed soon so that when completed, it will create more quality jobs for local people and neighboring areas" - Ms. Giang shared.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Bac (28 years old, residing in Hoa Binh ward) is currently working as an electronics worker in Bac Ninh with an income of over 12 million VND/month but has to work far from home.
I hope the factory will soon go into operation so that Hoa Binh workers who are working far away have the opportunity to return closer to their homes and stabilize their lives" - Mr. Bac said.
According to Mr. Tran Thanh Tung - Chairman of Thinh Minh Commune People's Committee (Hoa Binh), Meiko Group's investment in building a factory in Yen Quang Industrial Park is considered a positive sign for local socio-economic development. The high-tech project will contribute to promoting labor structure shifts, increasing income and creating sustainable development momentum for the region.
In Phu Tho province, 28 IPs have been established, of which 17 IPs are in operation. The operation of the IPs has created jobs for 233,662 workers, with an average income of 8.99 million VND/person/month.
