On December 26th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a conference to summarize the implementation of Strategy 1018 and Program 1017 on human resource training to serve the development of the semiconductor industry.
Reporting at the conference, the Ministry of Education and Training said that in 2025, 237,683 candidates were admitted to STEM, artificial intelligence, and microchip semiconductor majors (accounting for 30.7% of total admitted candidates).
In which, the training majors related to semiconductor microcircuits are 137,221 candidates.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024 and 2025, 26 higher education institutions participated in proposing 62 training programs according to the Guidance on Standards for training programs on semiconductor microcircuits.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that in the past time, human resource development for the semiconductor industry has had many positive changes. The awareness and proactiveness of higher education institutions have been increasingly enhanced, and many schools have opened related majors and training programs.
In addition, businesses proactively accompany universities, gradually forming a "3 houses" linkage model including the State - school - business. Training institutions also implement policies to attract human resources, contributing to improving teaching and research staff in the semiconductor field.
However, according to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc, the current training scale is still small; the team of lecturers and experts is still lacking and has not met the needs; facilities and laboratories are in the early stages, while the coordination of project implementation at times has not been truly smooth.
