On August 13, at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Sports Stadium, the opening ceremony of the 1st Expanded People's Public Security Trade Union Sports Festival in 2024, in the Northern region, took place.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union Committee - said that 2024 is the first year that the People's Public Security Union will organize an expanded tournament with a large scale of many competition contents. , expanding subjects and participants to continue developing the movement of sports training and health improvement.

Participating in the sports festival were 23 athlete delegations from the Police of provinces, cities, departments, academies, schools, hospitals, and non-business units in the People's Police of the Northern region.
The sports festival brings together nearly 600 athletes competing in 5 sports: Football, volleyball, squash, tennis, table tennis and competing in 24 events with more than 300 trophies and medals of all kinds. In particular, the sports festival had the participation of unit and local police leaders in most competitions.
