Attaching care to maintaining security from the root
Not only taking care of life and protecting the rights of workers, Da Nang City Trade Union levels have also become an important force in building the people's security posture. From models close to the people, close to the grassroots level, the movement "All people protect national security" is being widely spread among workers and laborers, contributing to maintaining social stability and the production environment.
With more than 1,760 grassroots trade unions and over 210,000 union members, the Da Nang City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) is not only an organization representing the rights of workers, but also an "extended arm" in ensuring security and order right from the grassroots level. A noteworthy point is that the Trade Union's approach does not separate two seemingly different tasks: taking care of life and maintaining security. Conversely, these two tasks are placed in a close relationship. When workers are properly cared for, have stable jobs, and have safe accommodation, they themselves become an active force participating in protecting their living environment.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: "We determine that taking good care of workers is the foundation to maintain stability from the grassroots level. When workers are assured of working, attached to businesses and accommodation, they will actively participate in maintaining security, not allowing complicated problems to arise.
In 2025, trade union levels organized nearly 400 legal propaganda classes, attracting about 50,000 union members and workers to participate. The content is not only limited to labor rights but also expands to crime prevention and control, drugs, social evils, traffic safety...
From boarding houses to the people's security posture
One of the typical models is the "Self-managed worker group in the boarding house area". From the initial 71 groups, by 2025, the model has been expanded to 73 groups throughout the city. This is not simply a community activity place, but also an "eye and ear" at the grassroots level, promptly detecting and reflecting arising problems.
It is worth mentioning that this model does not operate in a rigid administrative way. Instead, it is built on the natural connection between workers and landlords. Activities such as giving Tet gifts, supporting workers' children, organizing community activities... have created a stable and friendly living space.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - a worker at Hoa Khanh Industrial Park - shared: "Since the boarding house has a self-management team, everyone is closer, if there is anything unusual, they remind each other immediately. Coming home from work, I also feel more secure because everyone around is conscious of preserving it.
In parallel, the Trade Union also closely coordinates with the police force and mass organizations to organize the All People's Day for National Security Protection, associated with cultural, sports, and emulation activities. "Softening" security activities in a close form has helped the movement no longer be rigid, but become a part of workers' daily lives.
Not only orienting towards the outside, Da Nang Trade Union also focuses on building a safe and disciplined internal environment. "Safety in security and order" agency models are maintained; surveillance camera systems are equipped; internal regulations and rules are strictly implemented. Notably, there are no cases of officials and employees violating the law or engaging in social evils in the agency. From these results, Da Nang City Labor Federation has been repeatedly commended in the movement "All people protect national security", including Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security and the City People's Committee.
But the greatest value lies not in certificates of merit, but in the formation of a solid people's security posture right from the grassroots level. There, each worker is not only a worker, but also a "security cell"; each boarding house is not only a place to live, but a community support point and each Trade Union organization not only protects rights, but also contributes to keeping peace for the city.
