Gia Lai - Champasak Trade Union, Laos promote cooperation

Gia Lai - Gia Lai Trade Union and Champasak Provincial Trade Union Federation (Laos) agreed to strengthen coordination and consolidate Trade Union activities in the new period.

On the afternoon of December 10, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor and the Champasak Provincial Federation of Labor (Laos) held a cooperation exchange conference to strengthen solidarity and improve the effectiveness of coordination between the two trade union organizations.

At the conference, the two sides shared information about the situation of union members and workers; experiences in building union organizations, developing union members in enterprises; along with many models of caring for and protecting workers' rights and outstanding results in union activities in recent times.

In the 2025-2030 period, the two sides agreed to focus on cooperation in key areas such as: strengthening propaganda of the guidelines of the two Parties and the laws of the two States; educating the tradition of solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Laos; promoting exchanges and sharing experiences in dialogue and collective bargaining; developing union members, building strong grassroots unions; coordinating the organization of emulation movements and strengthening the management of trade union finances.

In the coming time, the two sides will continue to discuss to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding. It is expected that the cooperation program will be preliminarily summarized in 2028 and summarized in 2030 to evaluate the implementation results as well as orient the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the next phase.
