Lang Son Trade Union spends more than 3.7 billion VND to care for workers in difficult circumstances

Lang Son - In the first 6 months of the year, trade union levels have cared for 4,920 turns of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

The information was mentioned at the preliminary conference on trade union work in the first 6 months of the year, deploying key tasks for the last months of 2026, organized by the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation on July 14.

Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation directly manages 203 grassroots trade unions and professional unions, with 12,562 union members out of a total of 12,806 workers, reaching a rate of 98.1%.

According to the report, activities to care for the lives of union members and workers are focused on being implemented during the Lunar New Year.

Through the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party 2026" and activities of visiting and giving gifts, 4,920 turns of workers in difficult circumstances were supported with more than 3.7 billion VND.

Trade union levels also received resources, coordinated with agencies and businesses to visit and give Tet gifts to about 3,300 union members and workers, with a total value of more than 10 billion VND.

During Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the program "Day for Workers' Health".

About 200 workers in difficult circumstances were examined, consulted on health and received free gifts, with a total cost of 110 million VND.

In addition to social security activities, trade unions at all levels promote emulation movements, develop union members, establish grassroots trade unions, train officials and propagate and educate laborers on laws.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Provincial Labor Federation sets a goal to review and complete the targets for 2026; improve the quality of officials; strengthen inspection and supervision and promptly remove difficulties at the grassroots level.

The team of trade union officials is required to promote the spirit of proactiveness, creativity, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility; and at the same time replicate effective models and ways of caring for and protecting the rights of workers.

At the conference, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded reading pens and English learning support kits to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances at 12 affiliated grassroots trade unions.

On this occasion, 6 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements were awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The grassroots trade union of Tam Duc Lang Son One Member Limited Liability Company was awarded the emulation flag for its outstanding achievements in the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities in 2025.
