On May 9, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize a voluntary blood donation program and launch a blood donation movement among officials, union members, and workers in the province.
The activity is part of a series of programs in response to "Day for Workers' Health", Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026. The program attracted nearly 300 union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to participate, receiving 160 units of blood for emergency and treatment.
Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Kim Dung said that in recent years, the voluntary blood donation movement among union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers has always been actively responded to by agencies, units, and businesses, contributing to helping the province achieve and exceed annual blood donation targets.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung, many grassroots trade unions maintain the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization of union members to participate in periodic blood donation. Thereby, gradually raising community awareness about the humanistic meaning of blood donation to save people.
This voluntary blood donation program not only contributes to supplementing blood sources for emergency and treatment but also spreads the blood donation movement among officials, union members and workers in Vinh Long province.
The Provincial Labor Federation requests grassroots trade unions to continue to promote propaganda and mobilize union members to participate in regular blood donation, and at the same time build voluntary blood donation forces ready to support in emergency cases.

From early morning, a large number of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers were present at the blood donation point to register to participate in the program with the desire to contribute to saving patients' lives. Many people said they always maintain a reasonable diet and rest and have periodic health check-ups to be able to participate in blood donation regularly.
In addition, many workers of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. were supported by businesses with vehicles to bring them to the blood donation point early to participate in the program.
Ms. Do Nguyen Huong Giang - Cuu Long Tourism Joint Stock Company said that blood donation activities not only contribute to supporting patients in need of blood transfusion during treatment but also demonstrate the spirit of responsibility and sharing of workers towards the community.
