Workers really want to participate in the "playground" organized by the union
Mr. Duong Van Thai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Thai Nguyen province - said that the unit is currently directly managing nearly 31,000 union members.
According to the union organization, in the workers' boarding houses, there is a lack of playgrounds for union members and workers to participate after work; at the same time, due to the nature of their work, most of the workers time is in the factory (there are times when they have to work overtime, up to 12 hours a day), leading to tired days when they return from work... so workers just want to rest in the room. When the trade union organizes cultural, physical education and sports activities, it is still difficult because the enterprise cannot arrange time for employees to participate... - Mr. Duong Van Thai said.
To take care of the lives of union members and workers... The Trade Union of Thai Nguyen Industrial Parks has paid much attention to the spiritual life of union members and workers through strengthening propaganda, education and organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities.
Over the past 5 years, nearly 150 direct propaganda sessions have been organized for nearly 90,000 employees, content about trade union organizations, legal policies, occupational safety and hygiene, social insurance, traffic safety, health care, prevention of sexual harassment, crimes, social evils... At the same time, the trade union has increased propaganda on mass media and social networks Facebook, Zalo. Along with that, there are competitions such as "Searching for a good voice in the industrial park", "Art Festival" and football, badminton, volleyball tournaments that attract tens of thousands of union members and workers to participate.
Having worked as a worker in Diem Thuy Industrial Park (Thai Nguyen) for 10 years, Ms. Duong Thi Phuong - Samju Vina Company Limited said that after stressful working hours in the factory, workers really want to participate in cultural, artistic, sports activities... to relieve stress!
According to Ms. Phuong, cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities are very necessary, because through activities, workers have been able to connect and become close to each other.
Innovating forms of propaganda and mobilization
To continue to care for the lives, material and spiritual needs of union members and workers, recently (February 27), the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued a conclusion on continuing to implement Resolution 03a/NQ-TLD dated February 17, 2014 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (term XI) on "Improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones".
Accordingly, to continue to improve the effectiveness of building the cultural life of workers in general, focusing on industrial parks and export processing zones in the coming years, trade unions at all levels, especially leaders, continue to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness and responsibility for building the cultural life of workers in general, contributing to building a modern and strong Vietnamese working class in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Strengthen propaganda and education to improve political courage, class awareness, legal knowledge, industrial style, labor discipline, and cultural lifestyle of workers. Innovate content, diversify forms of propaganda and mobilization, attract a large number of workers to participate in cultural activities and sports training. Building a workers' culture in the new era, the era of national growth, associated with building a corporate culture.
Review, arrange, innovate, and improve the effectiveness of the operation of cultural and sports institutions of trade unions. Pay attention to training and fostering to improve the qualifications and skills of union officials, especially grassroots union officials and grassroots union officials at enterprises on organizing cultural, sports and entertainment activities for workers.
Increase investment in resources, organize cultural, artistic, physical education, sports and entertainment activities suitable to the living and working conditions of workers. Promote the effectiveness of existing models; build and replicate new models to improve the cultural and spiritual life of workers.
Proactively advise and propose to Party committees, authorities at all levels and employers to pay attention to leading and directing the work of building the cultural life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones, investing in building cultural and sports institutions to serve workers in industrial parks and enterprises; creating conditions for workers to participate in studying, cultural and sports activities.
