In Ham Kiem commune - where Ham Kiem I and Ham Kiem II Industrial Parks concentrate a large number of workers, many opinions focused on caring for and protecting the rights of workers in the non-state enterprise sector.
Mr. Tran Duy Thanh - Chairman of Ham Kiem Commune Trade Union said that it is necessary to raise the striving targets related to dialogue, negotiation and building harmonious labor relations.
According to the proposal, over 90% of businesses have periodic dialogues at workplaces; 100% of grassroots trade unions coordinate to build and implement grassroots democracy regulations. Over 95% of union members and workers are propagated labor laws, social insurance, traffic safety and occupational safety and health.
In industrial parks, at least 1 dialogue forum and meeting with workers should be organized annually to promptly remove difficulties and recommendations from actual production.
For female workers, opinions suggested that 100% of grassroots trade unions are eligible to establish Mass Women's Affairs Committees. Annually organize at least 1 thematic activity related to reproductive health, childcare, prevention and control of domestic violence and gender equality.
In the field of occupational safety and health, many opinions suggested clearly defining the goal of 100% of enterprises having an effective occupational safety and health network; and striving to reduce occupational accidents and prevent serious occupational accidents due to subjective errors.
From the business perspective, Mr. Duong Van Huan - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Lam Dong Aluminum One Member Limited Liability Company - said that the trade union organization needs to continue to affirm its role as a reliable support for workers in the context of a volatile labor market.
Trade unions need to truly become a reliable support for workers, especially in areas related to employment, income, working conditions and welfare regimes" - Mr. Huan emphasized.
In addition, promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation in trade union activities is also considered an urgent requirement. Digital transformation not only helps improve the efficiency of union member management but also creates conditions for workers to access information, reflect recommendations and participate in trade union activities more conveniently.
Emulation movements for good labor and creative labor also need to be maintained and replicated to ignite the spirit of responsibility and technical innovation initiatives in the working class.
