The conference took place on December 18, chaired by Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial Labor Federation, with the participation of leaders of the Provincial Industrial Park Trade Union, experts and a large number of Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of affiliated grassroots trade unions.
At the conference, delegates participated in discussions, contributing many enthusiastic opinions, focusing on the key contents of the draft Political Report. Many opinions suggested more clearly reflecting the living conditions of a group of workers and laborers who are still facing many difficulties due to income only enough to cover essential expenses, high living costs, and having to work overtime for a long time.
One content that has received much attention is digital transformation in trade union activities. The opinions proposed building a system for managing union members, finance and union benefits on a unified, easy-to-use digital platform, helping to reduce administrative procedures, improve transparency, and at the same time create conditions for union members to easily access policies, welfare services and labor law consultation. Along with that, the training and fostering of grassroots union cadres is also proposed to be innovated in the direction of applying digital technology, flexibly combining in-person and online training.
For the Draft amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, delegates focused on giving comments on the regulation of union fees, proposing to calculate union fees according to the regional minimum wage to ensure fairness and ease of implementation; at the same time, recommending clarification of some regulations related to the restoration of grassroots union activities and the scope of tasks of commune and ward-level unions to avoid overlap and arising administrative functions.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and the quality of the delegates' comments. Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh affirmed that the opinions will be fully compiled and reported to competent authorities for consideration, and at the same time requested that grassroots trade unions continue to promote their role in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2026.
