Dialogue creates trust, protects workers' rights
According to the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, the whole province currently has 176,970 union members over 184,799 workers. To date, 413/465 enterprises and 63/63 administrative and non-business units have implemented democracy regulations, organized conferences and dialogues at the workplace, creating conditions to promptly resolve workers' recommendations, and build harmonious labor relations.
At Ty Bach Co., Ltd., Mr. Le Thanh Huy, a production worker, said that what he appreciates most in the dialogues is that recommendations directly related to workplace safety are quickly received by businesses.
According to Mr. Huy, the proposal to regulate trucks during off-hours and handle unsafe locations in front of the company gate helps workers feel more secure every day when they come to the factory.
I see that the comments on traffic safety or travel conditions are all recognized by the trade union and the board of directors. When businesses listen and handle, workers feel that they are respected, thereby feeling secure and attached for a long time," Mr. Huy shared.

At Mega Surplus Shoe Co., Ltd., Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy said that the dialogues not only focus on salaries but also care about very practical needs. The fact that workers propose arranging separate parking spaces for pregnant workers or adding more convenient seats in the hall all shows concern for health and working conditions.
According to Ms. Thuy, many proposals seem small but directly affect the daily lives of workers. When opinions are listened to and publicly responded to, workers have more confidence in the trade union organization as well as the companionship of businesses.
Dialogue is the foundation for building sustainable labor relations
Ms. Lam Thi Ngoc Ha, Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Ty Bach Co., Ltd., said that periodic and unscheduled dialogues are important channels to help trade unions grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers; and at the same time summarize recommendations on labor safety, working conditions, and welfare to exchange with the board of directors.
According to Ms. Ha, when businesses proactively listen to and respond promptly to recommendations, employees will have more confidence and feel secure at work. This contributes to limiting frustration, building harmonious and stable labor relations, and creating motivation for businesses to develop sustainably.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that dialogue at the workplace is one of the important forms to implement grassroots democracy regulations.

To date, the whole province has 413/465 enterprises (reaching 89%) implementing grassroots democracy regulations; 413 enterprises and 63 administrative and non-business units organizing employee conferences, cadre and civil servant conferences and dialogues at workplaces.
According to Mr. Linh, the trade union's proactive coordination with employers to organize dialogues has helped promptly resolve many workers' petitions, limit disputes, and contribute to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
In the coming time, trade union levels will continue to improve the quality of dialogue, encourage businesses to maintain regular exchanges with employees, build a civilized and stable working environment, and create a foundation for sustainable business development and employees to be assured and attached for a long time.
