The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just responded to the dispatch of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs on the proposal for Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays and some other holidays in 2025.
Accordingly, regarding the holiday schedule for civil servants and public employees on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed to the policy of a 9-day Lunar New Year holiday, from January 25, 2025 (ie December 26, Giap Thin year) to February 2, 2025 (January 5, At Ty year).
On the occasion of the National Day holiday in 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed on option 1: 2 days off, of which 1 day is immediately before September 2 (ie 4 days off, from August 30, 2025 to September 2, 2025).
On the occasion of the Victory Day holiday of April 30 and International Labor Day of May 1, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor agreed on the plan of having 5 days off, from April 30, 2025 to May 4, 2025. According to this plan, the normal working day (May 2, 2025) will be swapped to Saturday, April 26, 2025.
In addition, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also agreed with the content proposed by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for workers.
Previously, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs sent an official dispatch to solicit opinions from various sectors to submit to the Prime Minister a proposal for the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
In the draft submission, the Ministry proposed a plan for the Lunar New Year holiday: 5 days off according to regulations, including 2 days off before Tet and 3 days off after Tet.
Civil servants and public employees will have Lunar New Year holidays from Saturday, January 25, 2025 to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (December 26, year of the Dragon, to January 5, year of the Snake).
Thus, with this plan, during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, civil servants and public employees will have 9 days off (including 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 4 days off every week).
Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs also agreed with the plan that civil servants and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off during the 2025 Lunar New Year.
