Coming to the house of Tran Xuan Dam - a student of class 12A1, My Loc High School (Ninh Binh province) in My Loc ward, we had the opportunity to chat and share the joy with his family.
According to the exam scores, Xuan Dam has become one of the two valedictorians nationwide in the 2025 high school graduation exam, with a total score of 39/40 points for the four subjects. In which, Math is 10 points, Physics is 10 points, Literature is 9.25 points, Chemistry is 9.75 points.
Talking to us, Dam said: "To achieve the best exam results, I always set clear goals for each day. During the learning process, if there is any problem, I will ask the teachers right away".
For Dam, studying is not a forced one, but a serious journey but still maintains a relaxed spirit, so he balances studying and helping his parents.
Sharing about the happiness of the family, Ms. Bui Thi Lau (born in 1983, Dam's mother) was moved: "My wife and I have 4 sons, Dam is the second child. My family is purely farmers, so my husband and I work as a subleger and grow more than a single piece of rice fields to earn a living. After being busy all day, I don't have time to teach my children to study, they are all self-conscious and take turns studying together. To help my parents, Dam often studies early in the morning every day, in the afternoon and evening, Dam will help me do housework and look after me."
Rushing to dry tears of happiness, Dam's mother added, her and her husband's biggest wish is that their children have enough to eat and study to make life less difficult in the future. "Like me when I was young, because my family was too poor, I couldn't go to school. Many times, procedures require pointing with your fingerprint. That is why I always want my children to study well, so that they will not have to work as hard as their parents," said Ms. Lau.
Ms. Tran Thi Hong Don - the homeroom teacher of class 12A1 and a Chemistry teacher said that she was very moved and proud to hear that her student had become the national valedictorian of the 2025 high school graduation exam. During his learning process, Dam not only studied well but also actively helped his friends improve, always proactively supporting teachers in all activities.
To continue to fulfill her dream since childhood, with the achieved results, Dam plans to study Control and Automation Engineering (Hanoi University of Science and Technology).
