The Trade Union social housing project in Giao Long commune, Vinh Long province is considered one of the key projects serving the housing needs of union members and workers with a scale of nearly 700 apartments currently.
According to the investor, the project does not sell apartments but only leases them for long-term, in order to maintain the stability of the social housing fund and limit real estate speculation in the market.
Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Phuc Linh said "Trade Union social housing is a long-term welfare program for union members and workers, built with the support of trade union financial resources, to create conditions for union members and workers to rent at prices according to the framework regulations of the State and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to settle down and do business, not sell".
Representatives of the Provincial Trade Union also said that, according to legal regulations on social housing, the rental model helps maintain a sustainable housing fund, avoids buying and selling transfers, and ensures long-term support for union members and workers.

Union members and workers renting houses in Giao Long are entitled to prices according to the State framework, public and transparent contracts; and are directly guided on procedures from the project management board.
When completed, the project is expected to contribute to solving the stable housing needs for union members and workers, creating conditions for union members and workers to feel secure in working, producing and long-term attachment to businesses in the locality, in order to realize the "di nông, bất ly hương" strategy that our Party and State have oriented.
Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation recommends that union members and workers, when in need, contact the project management board directly to be guided on transparent dossiers, avoiding all risks.
