On August 7, at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Vĩnh Phúc Province, the 3rd Competition Group - Labour Federations of Provinces in the Red River Delta Region organized a conference to implement the tasks of the Labour Federation for the last 6 months of 2024.
Mr. Phan Văn Anh, Vice Chairman of the VGCL; Mrs. Trịnh Thị Thoa, Chairman of the VGCL Vĩnh Phúc Province, and Mr. Lê Văn Hà, Chairman of the VGCL Hà Nam Province chaired the conference.
The 3rd Competition Group - Labour Federations of Provinces in the Red River Delta Region includes 5 units: Vĩnh Phúc, Hà Nam, Nam Định, Thái Bình, and Ninh Bình.
In the first 6 months of the year, the units have implemented various movements of emulation suitable to each locality and unit, and have achieved many positive results. Activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers have been implemented with a focus on negotiation, signing, and improving the quality of collective labor contracts.
The Labour Federations of the provinces in the 3rd Competition Group have allocated nearly 3 billion VND to implement activities to care for union members, workers, and employees with difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year, Labour Month, and Occupational Safety and Health Action Month. The Labour Federations of the provinces have developed nearly 45,000 union members, reaching 82.3% of the target set by the VGCL.
At the conference, the Standing Committee, Heads of the Departments of the Labour Federations of the provinces shared their experiences and effective ways of doing things for the provinces in the 3rd Competition Group to learn and apply creative and suitable ways for their units.
Mr. Phan Văn Anh, Vice Chairman of the VGCL, highly appreciates the results achieved by the units in the first 6 months of the year. The activities of the units are relatively uniform and highly effective, recognized by the local Party committees, authorities, employers, and especially union members. This has contributed significantly to the development of the economy, ensuring national security, social order, and safety at the local level.
In the last 6 months of the year, the Labour Federations of the provinces in the 3rd Competition Group will continue to focus on implementing several key tasks such as directing the implementation of the grassroots democracy regulations, participating in inspections and supervision of the implementation of policies, laws, and regulations; promoting the implementation of the "Benefits for Union Members" program; continuing to innovate the content and form of propaganda and education for union members, workers, and employees; launching and maintaining emulation movements; promoting the development of union members and establishing trade unions at the grassroots level…
At the conference, the Labour Federations of the provinces in the 3rd Competition Group and the Vietnam Trade Union of Health signed a cooperation agreement for the period 2024-2028. This is the basis for the Labour Federations of the provinces and the Vietnam Trade Union of Health to unite and cooperate in a practical and profound manner, contributing to the successful implementation of the resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels.
