On May 6, the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Trade Union Vietsovpetro (VSP) said that on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), in order to promote the movement of physical exercise and sports, improve the spiritual life of workers on sea projects, the Trade Union of RP-1 rig unit coordinated with the Youth Union to organize a shuttlecock kicking tournament, creating a lively and cohesive playground for union members and workers working far from their families.
From scrap materials, union members and workers working on the RP-1 rig have manufactured column frames; and at the same time reworked the yard surface, installed lighting systems, stretched windbreaks, and hung nets. These tasks all show solidarity, responsibility and sharing, thereby turning a unique working space into a spacious and safe sports playground to organize the tournament. Matches on the drilling rig in the middle of the sea took place in a lively and exciting atmosphere with many beautiful and dramatic bridge moves.
According to the VSP Trade Union, not only stopping at a simple sports activity, the shuttlecock kicking tournament has contributed to dispelling work pressure, bringing relaxation and regenerating energy for workers after stressful working hours. Handshakes and harmonious coordination have helped connect the collective, narrow the gap between units, creating a united and friendly working environment right in the middle of the sea.
Notably, the playground after completion not only serves this tournament, but is also maintained as a regular sports activity space, contributing to improving the physical and spiritual life of union members and workers working on the oil rig.
