With the characteristics of Quang Minh Industrial Park (IP), Me Linh District, Hanoi, bordering Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc Province; Thang Long III Industrial Park, Hanoi, located in Binh Xuyen District, Vinh Phuc Province, workers from the two provinces and cities are intertwined in terms of work and residence. In these areas, there is currently no centralized housing for workers. Quang Minh IP, Me Linh District alone has about 3,500 migrant workers, so workers are currently residing in affordable housing and boarding houses.
According to Mr. Le Duy Hung - Chairman of the Me Linh District Labor Federation, the district Labor Federation proactively coordinated with the district police and the authorities of Chi Dong town and Quang Minh town where many workers rent accommodation to establish 20 self-management groups at workers' accommodation areas in the two towns.
To continue promoting the role of trade union organizations in participating and coordinating with local authorities to build, maintain and improve the operational efficiency of self-management groups of workers' dormitories.
From reality, Mr. Hung said, in order for the Self-Management Groups to be effective, there must be a source of operating funds for the Self-Management Groups, to take care of the material and spiritual needs of workers and landlords.
Regarding the issue of ensuring worker security in industrial parks and export processing zones and neighboring areas, Ms. Bang Hai Ninh - President of the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union of Vinh Phuc province - said that there needs to be good coordination between the Trade Union and the police force, including coordination to establish grassroots trade unions.

Analyzing the situation, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Chairman of the Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union - affirmed that it is necessary to grasp the ideological situation, employment, income, and life of union members and workers, promptly handle problems in labor relations; do a good job of orienting public opinion among union members and workers, and ensuring worker security.
Recently, the Hanoi City Labor Federation and the Vinh Phuc Provincial Labor Federation have focused on grasping the ideological situation of union members and workers, promptly handling problems arising in labor relations, especially grasping and orienting public opinion among workers, preventing the formation of security and order hotspots in industrial parks and worker dormitories, preventing the risk of labor disputes and collective work stoppages, and reducing the number of collective work stoppages each year.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh and Ms. Trinh Thi Thoa both agreed that there was a large overlap between the two units, including union members in Hanoi but working in Vinh Phuc. There were workers in Hanoi but working in Vinh Phuc and vice versa. Therefore, it is necessary to have a specific review of the number to organize activities to ensure worker security. Mr. Pham Quang Thanh emphasized reviewing and grasping the situation and number to ensure that union members and workers in any area are taken care of by the union organization.
