Hundreds of workers in difficulty because Hoang Sinh Company owes wages for a long time

The case of Hoang Sinh Import-Export Joint Stock Company owing nearly 1,000 workers' salaries has been going on since July 2024, but so far, after nearly 2 years, hundreds of workers have not been paid enough salaries.

In recent days, workers who used to work at Hoang Sinh Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Hoang Sinh Company), Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City continue to complain to Lao Dong Newspaper about this enterprise's prolonged salary arrears.

According to workers, the enterprise started owing wages to workers from the end of July 2024. At this time, Hoang Sinh Company owed workers 4 months' salaries, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected the difficult lives of workers. After that, functional agencies intervened to handle the case and provide support. Hoang Sinh Company was refunded 23 billion VND in taxes and used this money to pay 2 months' salaries in advance to workers and still owed 2 months' salaries.

When the company paid 2 months' salary in advance, workers returned to the factory to work, but the company continued to owe salaries. In November 2024, the enterprise did not produce, workers quit their jobs. Up to now, the company still owes me 3 months' salary. I have requested payment many times, but the enterprise is still delaying" - Mr. Vo Hoang Ut Anh (52 years old, from An Giang) shared.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Trang (from An Giang) was also owed 3 months' salary by this business.

The company owes me about 30 million VND. It has been 2 years, the company has not paid workers a single penny. I and my colleagues have come to the company many times to request payment of salaries but have not been able to do so" - Mr. Nguyen Van Trang shared.

According to workers, this enterprise not only owes salaries but also owes social insurance and trade union funds.

The company deducts social insurance money from employees but does not pay it to the social insurance agency. This leads to the rights of employees being affected. When we lose our jobs, we are not supported by unemployment insurance, people who give birth are not entitled to maternity benefits, people who are sick are not entitled to health insurance. The prolonged situation has caused many difficulties for workers" - a female worker from Ninh Binh said. This person said that she has looked for a new job but so far her job is still unstable while her family is still renting a room and spending expensively.

Similarly, since quitting his job at Hoang Sinh Company, Mr. Nguyen Van Trang has gone through 4 businesses. Currently, Mr. Trang is collecting garbage, earning only about 5-6 million VND per month. This amount of money must be very frugal to be enough for him and his wife and nephew to cover living expenses in Hoa Loi ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

We have to tighten our belts to survive in Ho Chi Minh City. We hope that state agencies will intervene decisively, so that Hoang Sinh Company will pay our salaries, and we will have money to cover our lives" - Mr. Trang expressed.

Business ceases operations

Present at Hoang Sinh Company in Binh Duong ward, reporters noted that most gates were closed, only one gate was occasionally opened for workers and trucks to enter and exit. Persons inside said that Hoang Sinh Company has stopped production, and operations are currently undertaken by other businesses. Representatives of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City said that Hoang Sinh Company has stopped operating, only security forces remain. The business still owes salaries and is late in paying social insurance for employees. Although functional agencies have worked many times, the company has not yet paid salaries.
