More than 4,750.5 billion VND to take care of Tet for more than 8.6 million union members and workers

Being taken care of, workers can rest assured to welcome Tet At Ty 2025

In recent days, the trade unions at all levels of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province have continuously organized many activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 for union members and workers in the province. Among them, many people in difficult circumstances working at enterprises were directly visited by the trade union organization to encourage and give Tet gifts to support workers.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung (worker of AJ Solutions Manufacturing Company Limited) said he was very happy to receive the Tet gift from the Union. “This is a meaningful and humane activity, helping myself and my colleagues, and people with disabilities have more motivation to rise up, and have more conditions to celebrate Tet fully,” said Mr. Dung.

Being disabled (with one leg) but still the main breadwinner in the family, Mr. Dung and other workers such as Nguyen Van Tien, Ho Huu Tri, Le Thi Thanh Tuyen (who was born deaf and mute) were all given a gift worth 1.7 million VND by the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Labor Federation (including 1.5 million VND in cash and a gift worth 200,000 VND) to have more conditions to celebrate Tet.

Receiving gifts from the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor, workers in difficult circumstances, those with serious illnesses... were all excited, happy, and had more conditions to celebrate Tet with their families.

Early implementation of Tet care activities

On January 23, speaking to reporters, Mr. Phan Van Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor had promptly issued plans to implement activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025. Accordingly, trade unions at all levels have proactively developed plans and programs to ensure effective implementation; the activities of the trade union organization continue to receive the attention of leaders of the Party, State, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, localities, enterprises and the whole society.

Activities to care for the Lunar New Year 2025 continue to be organized at 4 union levels, focusing on the grassroots level. Priority care is given to union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, natural disasters, storms and floods; union members and employees who lack or lose their jobs; union members and employees who are policy families, ethnic minorities or have not had the opportunity to return home to reunite with their families during the Lunar New Year for many years; union members and employees who do not return home to celebrate Tet to work, work, and produce.

The program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan An Dang" was held in a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome the Communist Party of Vietnam. Depending on the situation at the grassroots level, the program was organized together with the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" to serve the needs of both enjoying Spring, welcoming Tet, and shopping for Tet of union members and employees. Cultural and artistic activities, visits, organizing folk games, cooking competitions, flower arrangement, decoration, wrapping banh chung, displaying five-fruit trays, health check-ups, free legal advice, giving gifts, giving train and bus tickets, giving "Trade Union Warm House" houses... to union members and employees took place enthusiastically and simultaneously in many places, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere, deepening the solidarity and attachment between the union organization and union members and employees.

According to reports from trade unions at all levels, up to now, over 8.6 million union members and employees have benefited from the care activities of the trade union organization, with a total budget of over 4,750.5 billion VND. Of which, the union's financial resources are 3,054.5 billion VND; calling for social support to support the funding for caring for union members and employees is 1,696 billion VND.

The activities of visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances continue to receive attention from leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and localities. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has coordinated to serve over 200 delegations of leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and National Assembly delegations in 63/63 provinces and cities for over 28,000 union members and workers with a budget of over 37 billion VND.

Through activities, leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and National Assembly delegations shared, acknowledged and highly appreciated the work of the Trade Union in caring for union members and workers.

“The activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 were effectively implemented by trade unions at all levels, ensuring compliance with the direction of the Secretariat in Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024 on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025 and the motto "All union members and workers have Tet" and according to Plan No. 133/KH-TLD dated September 30, 2024 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. To achieve the above results, the Trade Union organization has always received the attention of Party and State leaders, the coordination of departments, ministries, branches, and organizations at the Central level, Party committees and authorities at all levels, the active support and companionship of the business community, organizations, individuals, and the positive, proactive and constantly innovative spirit of trade unions at all levels in organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, thereby helping millions of union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, to be cared for and supported promptly during Tet, contributing to the good implementation of social security policies, stabilizing the labor relations situation in general, and during Tet in particular" - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh commented.

According to the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in the coming time, trade unions at all levels will continue to monitor and grasp the situation of labor relations, production, business, compliance with laws, regimes, policies, thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees at enterprises in the area, especially those with a large concentration of workers; proactively propose and coordinate with employers to create favorable conditions for union members and employees to take Tet holiday and return to work after Tet; proactively develop measures to prevent and handle labor disputes that may occur during the Lunar New Year.

Coordinate with employers to propagate and mobilize employees to return to agencies, units and enterprises on time, continue to organize to welcome employees back to work. Grasp the situation of employees returning to work right after Tet.

Organize meetings, visits, encouragement, and New Year greetings to union members, workers, and businesses to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the first working days of Spring, ensure a return to normal work immediately after the Tet holiday, and focus on resolutely and synchronously implementing the 2025 work tasks immediately after the end of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
