On June 16, Vietnam Social Security reported that the development of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance participants reached and increased compared to the same period in 2023 with about 18.3 million social insurance participants, reaching a coverage rate of 39.05% of the working-age workforce, an increase of 1.16 million people (equivalent to 6.77%) compared to the same period in 2023; of which voluntary social insurance was 1.62 million people, an increase of 202,000 people (equivalent to 14.25%) compared to the same period in 2023.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Vietnam Social Security industry is estimated to resolve and pay for nearly 8 million people receiving social insurance benefits.
