The proactiveness of trade union officials
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, in 2026, trade union levels in the Capital have proactively advised on innovating the content and methods of operation, doing a good job of caring for and representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; organizing dialogues at the workplace, participating in building collective labor agreements; with the motto "taking the grassroots as the operating area, taking union members and workers as the center". Many effective and unique models and ways of working of the Capital Trade Union have been built and replicated, creating a spreading effect, recognized by Party committees, authorities, and employers, and trusted by union members and workers.
At the same time, city-level trade unions have actively coordinated with the same-level government to organize and launch patriotic emulation movements to all officials, union members, and workers to emulate "Good Labor", "Creative Labor" in all fields, with the goal of "Higher Productivity, Better Quality"; emulation associated with digital transformation, innovation and labor productivity improvement with the movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" being deployed synchronously, creating a widespread emulation atmosphere among workers, civil servants, and laborers of the Capital, in order to practically celebrate the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
Through emulation movements and activities at the grassroots level, many typical grassroots trade union presidents have emerged, with bravery, enthusiasm, responsibility, and creativity in work. Many comrades have proactively advised the Party Committee, effectively coordinated with the government, professional departments, and employers to organize activities to care for and protect union members and workers; actively participated in solving problems arising from the grassroots level, contributing to stabilizing the ideology, life, and jobs of workers and employees.
Spreading the spirit for workers and emulation for good labor
The work of selecting and introducing outstanding and typical grassroots trade union presidents has been seriously, democratically, objectively, and in accordance with criteria implemented by trade union levels. Through selection, 327 typical grassroots trade union presidents have been recognized and rewarded by the City Labor Federation, including 10 outstanding and typical grassroots trade union presidents.
The individuals proposed for commendation are all trade union officials with good moral qualities, prestige among union members and workers, with outstanding achievements in organizing trade union activities, with many effective models, initiatives, and ways of working, suitable to the practical conditions of each agency, unit, and enterprise.
Trade union presidents have promptly reflected the proposals and recommendations of employees to employers to be resolved in the fastest way, in accordance with the law and regulations of the enterprise.
They also work with the Trade Union Executive Committee at the enterprise to represent the collective of employees in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements, with 100% of collective labor agreements having many clauses higher than the law, reaching type A or B...
As one of the 10 outstanding typical grassroots trade union presidents in 2026, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Trade Union President of Toyota Boshoku Hanoi Co., Ltd. said that in the dialogue process, we always maintain the spirit of "Difficulties share together, benefits ensure harmony". Trade unions protect workers but do not confront businesses; accompany businesses but do not avoid issues related to the legitimate rights of workers.
From the emulation movement "Creative Labor" launched by the VGCL in 1996, to the movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" in the period 2026 - 2031, the Hanoi City Labor Federation has specifically implemented it with the movement to strive to achieve the title "Initiative and Creative in Capital Workers and Employees" and now the movement "Good Labor, High Productivity, Good Income" in all levels of the City Trade Union. In 2026, according to reports from trade union levels in the Capital, there were 71 thousand technical innovation initiatives and solutions to improve labor productivity, of which over 26 thousand initiatives were effectively applied in practice with a profit value of trillions of VND.
With nearly 2,000 initiatives selected and proposed from the grassroots level, the emulation council of the City Labor Federation has selected and recognized 100 outstanding typical initiatives that achieved the title "Initiatives and Creativities in Capital Workers and Employees" in 2026 and decided to recognize 200 initiatives with outstanding achievements in the movement "Initiatives and Creativities in Capital Workers and Employees".
Out of a total of nearly 2,000 initiatives sent to the Hanoi Labor Federation, 1,650 initiatives calculated the value of profit in money, with the amount of profit reaching trillions of VND. The initiatives focus on technical improvements, saving raw materials, applying AI, automation, digital transformation, administrative reform and improving the quality of public services. Many initiatives have great profit value, contributing to improving the productivity, quality and competitiveness of enterprises, and at the same time, the initiatives also have positive social significance, creating jobs for thousands of workers in the Capital.
