On December 31st, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation organized a conference to summarize the project "Improving the quality of communication, counseling and health care, occupational disease prevention for female workers".
In the period 2021-2025, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation has implemented the Project "Improving the quality of communication, counseling and health care, occupational disease prevention for female workers" with many synchronous solutions, closely following reality at enterprises.
The project is implemented in 46 enterprises with Trade Union organizations, focusing on the garment, footwear, bamboo and rattan weaving, and votive paper industries, where there are many female workers and labor conditions are still stressful.
In 5 years, trade union levels have organized 92 communication sessions, direct counseling on reproductive health and family planning for more than 15,000 female workers. Communication forms have been diversified, from thematic activities, competitions, seminars at businesses to the issuance of more than 270,000 leaflets, notebooks, building 12 propaganda video clips and applying the digital platform "Digital Labor Hours".

Through assessment, over 90% of female workers participating grasped basic knowledge about reproductive health care; about 70-75% had positive changes in awareness and behavior, becoming more proactive in self-health care.
In parallel with communication, specialized examination work is being systematically implemented. In the period 2021-2025, 9,200 female workers at 46 enterprises have had gynecological examinations, abdominal ultrasounds and probe ultrasounds right at work.
The results showed that 60% had normal health conditions, but still 40% detected gynecological diseases, mainly vaginitis and cervicitis.
About 20% of cases are detected abnormalities through ultrasound such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis. Early detection has helped workers be consulted, monitored and transferred to a new treatment line in a timely manner.
The project also recognized the clear effectiveness of inter-sectoral coordination. The Provincial Labor Federation has closely coordinated with the health sector and functional agencies in organizing examinations, consultations, and training on policies and laws on female labor and occupational safety and health.
More than 1,200 turns of trade union officials were trained in specialized topics, gradually improving the capacity to organize, advise and apply digital communication in health care for female workers.
At the conference, delegates exchanged many good practices of units, businesses as well as trade union officials. Delegates all expressed their gratitude and affirmed the important role of trade union organizations in caring for the health of workers, especially reproductive health for female workers.

Speaking to direct at the summary conference, Ms. Trinh Thi Hoa - Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation - affirmed that taking care of female workers' reproductive health is not only a social security activity but also an investment in the quality of human resources and the sustainable development of businesses.
Ms. Trinh Thi Hoa emphasized that in the coming time, trade union levels need to continue to use communication as a foundation, expand the scope of specialized examinations, prioritize businesses with a large number of female workers, heavy and hazardous industries, and promote digital transformation to suit the specifics of shift work.
From the achieved results, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation proposed to continue implementing the Project for the period 2026-2031, with the attention of arranging stable funding, strengthening socialization and the companionship of businesses.
The goal is to expand the enjoyment area, increase the rate of female workers being examined by specialists, thereby better protecting the rights, health and quality of life of female workers in the province.
