Engineer recruitment is not easy
BT Construction and Trading Company (Thanh Tri commune, Hanoi City) is in need of recruiting electrical engineers, water supply and drainage engineers and technical workers.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh - Head of the Company's Human Resources Department, businesses need engineers with salaries from 10-25 million VND/month and about 10 technical workers, earning 10-15 million VND/month.
In addition to salaries, employees enjoy social insurance benefits, holiday and Tet bonuses, and construction site allowances. The company also participates in job transaction sessions organized by the Hanoi Employment Service Center, and also posts recruitment information on social networks and job sites.
However, recruiting enough people is still not easy, especially for the engineer position.
On recruitment groups, especially recruiting workers and technicians, there are mainly job search messages, but very few people post job search messages. In the past, it was only necessary to post a job recruitment message to have someone contact you, but now it is very difficult" - Ms. Binh said.
According to Ms. Binh, the demand for technical human resources in the market is currently quite large, while the labor force to meet the requirements is not large. For small and medium-sized enterprises, the recruitment of workers and assistants also faces many difficulties.
Small and medium-sized companies like us find it very difficult to recruit workers and assistants. Demand is high but supply is low" - Ms. Binh said.
To ensure the progress of work, businesses must flexibly coordinate personnel, and at the same time use available labor from other units working together at the construction site.
Small businesses have difficulty competing for human resources
The shortage of human resources is also recorded at Bigcom Joint Stock Company. Mr. Hoang Tung - Deputy General Director of the Company - said that businesses still have recruitment needs in the last months of the year. However, due to the low recruitment demand, businesses face difficulties in competing for human resources with large corporations and businesses.
According to Mr. Tung, the current difficulty in recruitment is not because workers do not have a need to work, but because human resources are lacking compared to the needs of businesses. Large businesses have high recruitment demand and are willing to increase costs to attract labor, causing small businesses to face difficulties in recruiting people.
Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center - shared that the recruitment demand of businesses in the area is currently about 38,000 positions. Through a survey of 13,424 recruitment positions from 2,545 recruitment sources, wholesale, retail and other service groups accounted for 60.3%; processing, manufacturing and construction groups accounted for 25.9%.
According to the Center, the proportion of recruitment in the processing, manufacturing and construction groups decreased mainly due to the strong increase in the service group in the short term. The scale of recruitment and salary levels in the construction and infrastructure sectors did not decrease; labor demand is still large, especially serving public investment projects.
Former Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Employment (Ministry of Home Affairs) Le Quang Trung said that it is necessary to forecast human resource demand according to each project, each stage to have a plan to attract labor early. For large projects, businesses need to proactively develop recruitment plans, calculate human resources in localities and neighboring areas instead of waiting until the project is implemented to find people.
Labor coordination between construction sites, increased machinery and equipment, and the organization of specialized job transaction sessions are also proposed to meet the human resource needs for large projects.
