Benefit for business and employees
Dong Phuong Company Limited (Dien Ban town) operates in the field of processing agricultural, aquatic, food and foodstuffs. It is one of the enterprises evaluated by the Quang Nam Provincial Federation of Labor (FLD) as having implemented well welfare policies for employees. This enterprise currently has 409/409 employees participating in the Trade Union, with an average monthly income of 7.5 million VND/person.
The above results have a significant contribution from Mr. Le Van Tan - Deputy Director of the company and the person who has held the position of Chairman of the Trade Union of this enterprise for 16 years, right from the beginning of its establishment.
“We focus on signing and implementing collective labor agreements, with many provisions that are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law, such as: New employees recruited to the company are supported with gasoline and accommodation costs up to VND300,000/month for the first 3 months of work; extraordinary bonuses for employees with work achievements or high prizes in competitions launched by the company or union... bonuses for diligence and seniority for employees who have been with the company for a long time,” said Mr. Tan.
With his positive contributions to trade union activities, in 2023, Mr. Le Van Tan was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1975), workshop manager, Dong Tam - Central Joint Stock Company (Dien Ban) is a typical example of a worker who has constantly innovated and created to improve machinery and technology, and increase work efficiency.
Mr. Hung is the owner of two outstanding initiatives including: "Processing a closed dust filter for the Siti kiln gas supply system", reducing the rate of dust defects on finished products, helping the enterprise save more than 1.6 billion VND/6 months; and the initiative "Installing an additional pipe section, dividing the hot air supply pipe into 2 independent lines - one hot air supply line for horizontal drying; one hot air supply line for kiln head drying and brick drying in the kiln head elevator", with a value of more than 271 million VND/year.
“I always receive encouragement from business leaders and the Trade Union so that I can boldly innovate and apply initiatives in practice to bring efficiency, save costs for businesses and minimize risks, as well as increase productivity for workers,” Mr. Hung shared.
Typical spread for workers
Mr. Tan and Mr. Hung are two of 116 individuals who are typical Trade Unions and Grassroots Unions (GCTUs) in the period of 2021-2023 and typical employees in 2024, who have just been commended and rewarded by the Quang Nam Provincial Federation of Labor in August 2024.
According to Mr. Phan Xuan Quang - Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial Federation of Labor, these are typical advanced individuals representing 1,838 trade unions, grassroots unions and over 70,000 workers in the province, who have done a good job of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; participating in the management of agencies, units, and enterprises, making tens of billions of dong in profit...
“It can be said that with enthusiasm, high responsibility, and a spirit of constant innovation and creativity, through specific and practical actions, exemplary union officials and workers have helped union members and employees understand, trust and attach more to the union, and work enthusiastically,” said Mr. Quang.
Speaking at the conference to honor the bright examples of trade union officials and workers, Mr. Ho Quang Buu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province assessed that the typical examples honored this time not only demonstrated the practical concern of the trade union organization for workers, but also affirmed the sense of responsibility and creativity of workers with practical and effective contributions in all fields, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of political tasks of each agency, unit, enterprise and locality.
Mr. Ho Quang Buu also hoped that the Trade Union organization would continue to promote and spread the spirit of good work, creative work, for workers, blooming flowers in the patriotic emulation flower garden of the province.
