On April 22, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor organized a training course on "Dialogues to promote gender equality and protect the rights of female workers at the workplace" for union officials in the province; expected to take place over 2 days 22-23.
Attending the training course were Ms. Vu Thi Giang Huong - Member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department - Female General Confederation of Vietnam; Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy Head of Propaganda Department - Female Congress of Vietnam Labor Federation; Mr. Le Dinh Quang - Deputy Head of Legal Policy and Labor Relations Department of Vietnam Labor Federation, and 120 Trade Union officials who are female officials, representatives of grassroots trade unions in enterprises using many female workers across the province.
At the training course, the reporters, Ms. Tran Thu Phuong and Mr. Le Dinh Quang, will convey the contents and regulations on gender equality, for the advancement of women applied in labor relations; regimes and policies for female workers according to regulations; regulations on procedures and dialogue processes at the workplace; practical skills and experience when dialogue.
At the same time, it also organizes exchanges between union officials participating in the training to share, listen, and answer problems in implementation; or other recommendations and proposals of female workers at grassroots units...
According to Ms. Vu Thi Giang Huong, the training course was organized to build a team of union officials with sufficient qualifications, capacity, and negotiation and dialogue skills to contribute to the implementation of the breakthroughs set out by the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Towards expanding dialogue activities in units employing many union members and female workers; meeting the requirements of women's work activities in the new situation, and gradually becoming a core activity of mass women's work.
"I hope that the skills and experience equipped through the training course will be knowledge and equipment for union officials to effectively carry out activities, successfully completing the task of caring for and protecting workers, especially female workers in the coming time," Ms. Huong emphasized.
