From March 2026, the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis (A Hospital Thai Nguyen) welcomes more female workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLĐ) to visit and receive free maternity counseling. In particular, the number increases on weekends.
This is a coordination activity between the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation and Thai Nguyen Hospital A to support reproductive health care for female union members and workers.
Ms. Dang Thi Thao (hamlet 6, Dong Hy commune) came for a free examination when she was 35 weeks pregnant. After being ultra-visualized and consulted, she found out she was carrying an inverse fetus with polyhydramnios.
If I don't go for an examination, it is difficult to foresee all the risks that may occur during labor. Thanks to being detected early, I am much more proactive, avoiding dangerous situations during pregnancy," Ms. Thao shared.
For many female workers in difficult circumstances, far from home, being examined and given free pregnancy health advice is very meaningful, both saving costs and receiving timely health care and in-depth advice from doctors.

I am from Cao Bang province, my husband and I have been working in Thai Nguyen for many years, and our economic conditions are not very abundant. Now that pregnancy is examined and consulted for free, it is less expensive and much safer," said Ms. Hoa - a worker at Song Cong Industrial Park.
According to Dr. Pham Van Tien Cuong - Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis, during the program implementation, many abnormalities were detected early. Immediately after that, patients were advised to undergo in-depth tests to screen for defects.
Early detection helps pregnant women have more opportunities to choose necessary monitoring and intervention measures. This not only helps reduce risks for mothers and babies but also reduces the burden on families and society," said Dr. Cuong.
From March 2026 to now, on average, each week the Center for Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Diagnosis (Hospital A) receives from 10 - 20 female workers and employees for free examination under the program. This number is forecast to continue to increase in the coming time as many female workers grasp the information.
The coordination program between the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation and Hospital A has created favorable conditions in terms of time, and at the same time improved the quality of maternity care for union members in enterprises when they have to work in shifts.
Accordingly, grassroots trade unions proactively make lists, monitor female union members who are pregnant or of childbearing age; coordinate with hospitals to register for examination and consultation.
Hospital A, with its role as a specialized facility in obstetrics and gynecology of Thai Nguyen province, undertakes all professional activities such as clinical pregnancy check-ups according to Ministry of Health standards, 5D color ultrasound integrated with artificial intelligence, pregnancy counseling and monitoring.
In particular, examination and counseling activities are also organized continuously on weekends to create favorable conditions for workers. This is also a step contributing to the formation of a "ecosystem" of maternity care specifically for female workers, civil servants, and laborers.
