On July 20, information from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation said that a delegation of the unit led by Ms. Trinh Thi Hoa - Vice President of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation - visited and encouraged 8 workers being treated at Bach Mai Hospital, Ninh Binh facility.
These are workers who were injured or affected in their health in the accident that occurred at the pig farm of Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd., in Thach Quang commune, Thanh Hoa province.
Among the 8 workers being treated, there are 2 seriously injured cases; the remaining 6 cases have temporarily stabilized their health.
At the hospital, the working delegation went to each patient room to visit, encourage and hope that the workers would feel secure in their treatment and soon stabilize their health.
Regarding the increase in the number of workers who had to go to the hospital for treatment compared to the initial report, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Huy Duong - Chairman of Thach Quang Commune People's Committee - said that immediately after the incident, 5 people died and 2 seriously injured people were taken to the emergency room.
After that, Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. continued to bring 6 workers who participated in rescuing people trapped under the pit to the hospital for health check-ups, examinations and treatment. Therefore, the total number of workers treated at the hospital increased to 8 people.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at about 5:30 pm on July 18, Mr. B.V. V. - a worker of Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. - was repairing the electrical system in the fertilizer filter area when he was electrocuted, fell into a hole and showed signs of suffocation.
Discovering the incident, many workers present nearby went down to rescue. However, these people later also showed signs of suffocation.
The accident killed 5 people and seriously injured 2 others. 6 other workers participating in the rescue were also taken to the hospital for examination, monitoring and treatment.
