More fun for the poor workers

On the eve of the new school year 2024 - 2025, the Da Nang City Trade Union at all levels organized many activities for children of workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD) in difficult circumstances and children of CNVCLD with excellent academic achievements to help them have more motivation to overcome difficulties, study well, and achieve high academic achievements.

Nearly 500 students were honored

The highlight of this series of activities is the ceremony to commend and award scholarships to nearly 500 students who are children of employees with excellent academic achievements in the 2023-2024 school year, organized by the City Labor Federation.

From the "Trade Union Social Activities" fund, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has commended, awarded certificates and scholarships worth VND 1,000,000/student to 180 excellent children of employees who won high prizes in national excellent student competitions and first prizes at the city level for students in grades 9 and 12, school year 2023-2024; awarded scholarships worth VND 1,000,000/student to 300 children of employees who overcame difficulties and studied well. In addition to the cash bonus, each child received an additional gift of a notebook.

Not only are they shining examples in their studies, many of them have overcome difficult family circumstances, with their father or mother being a worker who had an accident and had to undergo long-term treatment. There are cases of orphaned students or students living with their parents but their economic conditions are still difficult. However, they always strive to overcome difficulties, make efforts to study and achieve encouraging results.

On this occasion, the City Labor Federation also handed over a savings book worth 10 million VND to a child who is 18 years old as prescribed and gave annual savings interest to a child who is an orphaned employee or has difficult circumstances.

In particular, with the wish that the students have a summer full of memories, the Labor Federation of Dang City organized a picnic program for the students right after the award ceremony ended.

Through the activities of the Program, students who are children of union members and employees can exchange, learn, practice independence, gradually get used to collective life, practice social skills, practice dynamism and creativity in collective activities.

Many scholarships are awarded

Every year, before the new school year, the Da Nang City Trade Union at all levels always organizes many meaningful activities to create a useful playground for children of workers and civil servants with the spirit of playing while learning, learning while playing.

This year, the City Civil Servants' Union organized a ceremony to offer flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Military Region 5 Branch and commended and rewarded 150 students who are children of union members and workers in affiliated grassroots unions who won first, second and third prizes in city-level competitions for excellent students and national prizes in the subjects of culture, foreign languages, and information technology in the 2023-2024 school year. Each scholarship is worth 1 million VND with a certificate and a badge of honor.

Participating in the program "June Festival" organized by the Lien Chieu District Labor Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture - Information, the District Women's Union, Ms. Luong Thi Vong, a temporary worker residing at the Self-managed Workers' Group in the boarding house area in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, shared: "This is a very practical activity organized by the District Labor Union. My child's academic achievements in the past school year have been recognized. This will be a joy and motivation for me to work."

At the Program, Lien Chieu District Labor Federation awarded 145 scholarships, each including gifts and cash worth 600,000 VND to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

In addition, the "June Festival" program also featured exciting dance and folk dance exchange activities performed by union members, workers, women's union members from 5 wards in the district and the self-managed Workers' Groups of the boarding house.
