Accelerate year-end labor recruitment
Nhat Viet Company Limited (Hai An District, Hai Phong) currently creates jobs for more than 400 workers with an average income of 10 million VND/person/month.
Mr. Tran Dinh Thang - Director of Nhat Viet Company Limited - said: In 2024, the company will export half a million Vento footwear products to the Middle East, China and Japan. Compared to the factory's original design of 1 million pairs/year, this year's output has only reached 50%. The main reason is that the company is seriously lacking in labor, because to reach 1 million products/year, the company needs 800 workers, but so far it has only half of this number.
“There are many orders but there is a shortage of workers. The company continuously posts recruitment notices, even going to the northern mountainous provinces to look for workers. Workers from Lao Cai and Yen Bai are also rented houses by the company along with many other benefits, but this group often does not stay long-term. In the immediate future, from now until Tet, the company needs about 100 more workers to meet the order progress and will continue to recruit more for 2025,” Mr. Thang shared.
Not only at Nhat Viet Company, many businesses in Hai Phong are urgently recruiting workers at the end of the year.
At the job fair on December 12 organized by the Employment Service Center of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hai Phong City, 18 large enterprises operating in many fields such as: Manufacturing automobile airbags, electronic components; mechanical processing, plastic processing, leather shoe production, sweater processing, garment... participated in recruiting thousands of people.
At the recruitment fair of DEEPC 2 Industrial Park (Dong Hai 2 ward, Hai An) also attracted 25 enterprises such as Pegatron, Tesa, Shinetsu, Assa Abloy, Knauf... to participate in recruiting more than 1,000 positions in many fields of engineers, accountants, human resources, sales staff, technical workers, general workers...
Improve welfare to attract workers
According to statistics from the Hai Phong City People's Committee, in 2024, the city organized 56 job fairs with 1,050 businesses participating, with a recruitment demand of 140,000 workers. However, it only met 75% of the recruitment needs of businesses.
Many businesses are having difficulty recruiting, according to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, because incomes do not meet expected living standards, so workers consider switching to higher-income informal jobs. Other localities are also developing many industrial parks, so the immigrant workforce in Hai Phong tends to return to their hometowns to work.
To solve this situation, the city supports businesses in linking, cooperating, ordering training and employing workers with the city's training facilities, ensuring a skilled workforce for production. Along with that, it focuses on developing social housing, worker housing along with necessary institutions to attract workers from other provinces to work and stay in Hai Phong for a long time.
Hai Phong City's trade unions also support by posting recruitment notices and job postings of businesses through the social network system of trade unions at all levels and the Huong Cong - Hai Phong Trade Union application...
In addition, grassroots unions monitor the implementation of labor laws and policies at enterprises, advise and propose enterprises to improve salaries, bonuses, welfare regimes, etc. Thereby, attracting and retaining workers, limiting labor fluctuations, especially before and after Tet.
