On January 13, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Soc Trang province held a conference to summarize the Trade Union activities in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025.
Mr. Le Van Phai - Vice Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation attended and directed the conference.
Reporting at the conference, Mr. Ly Truong Khoa - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Soc Trang province said that in 2024, the work of representing, caring for the lives, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers will focus on practical issues that directly affect the lives of workers.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year, Workers' Month 2024, from the support fund of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee, the Provincial Federation of Labor, together with the mobilized funds of the Industrial Park Trade Union, the trade union organization presented about 4,500 gifts to union members and employees with a total amount of nearly 2.5 billion VND. The affiliated trade union also took advantage of the employer's funds to present 24,950 gifts to union members and employees. The total value is over 11.8 billion VND.
From the Trade Union Shelter Fund, the Fund for the Poor has supported 4 houses for the Trade Union Shelter and Great Solidarity House for union members who are struggling to get home. Total cost 300 million VND.
In 2024, 4,968 new union members were developed, an increase of 1,653/1,450 union members, reaching 114% of the assigned target. 3 grassroots unions were established, reaching 100% of the assigned target. Currently, the Industrial Parks Trade Union has 33 affiliated grassroots unions with 25,562 union members/26,876 employees.
The trade unions have also worked with employers to create conditions for 20,963/26,876 union members and workers to regularly improve their qualifications and careers, reaching 78% (target 70%) of whom participated in training and development courses such as sewing, preliminary processing, shrimp frying, electromechanics, machine maintenance, fire prevention and fighting, etc. so that workers have labor and production skills.
In 2024, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Soc Trang province achieved and exceeded 13/13 targets.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Van Phai - Vice Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation requested that in the coming time, the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union continue to take care of the lives, protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, especially during the 2025 Lunar New Year; Excellently implement the emulation movements of the Trade Union organization. Develop a plan to develop union members, establish grassroots unions. Continue to implement cooperation agreement programs with signed enterprises to bring benefits to union members and workers.
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Soc Trang Industrial Parks Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 19 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and Trade Union activities in 2024.
