Accelerating many items, increasing demand for human resources
These days, the construction site of the Giao Long Trade Union Social Housing Project is being urgently constructed. After completing the roofing of building A3, the units continue to deploy buildings A1, A4 and the parking area.
Many construction teams are organized in parallel, hundreds of workers are working continuously to ensure progress. The increased workload makes the demand for labor recruitment high, from masons, ironworkers, formworkers to unskilled labor.
Mr. Thai Van Hung - Deputy Head of the Project - informed that the project is entering the construction phase of many items simultaneously, so the demand for manpower has increased significantly. To meet the progress, contractors continuously recruit more skilled and unskilled workers, and at the same time arrange reasonably between construction teams.
According to Mr. Hung, the addition of manpower will help the construction site maintain many construction fronts at the same time, limiting interruptions, especially in the context of unfavorable weather conditions. "We are focusing manpower on buildings A1, A4 and parking areas. When there are enough people, progress will be accelerated but still must ensure quality and labor safety," Mr. Hung said.
Continuous recruitment not only serves immediate needs but also creates jobs for many workers in the locality and neighboring provinces. For those with experience in the construction sector, this is an opportunity to have stable jobs and steady incomes right near their place of residence. For young workers, the project also becomes an environment to accumulate practical experience before entering the labor market.
Job opportunities from social housing construction sites
Among the newly recruited workers is Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, residing in Giao Long commune, Vinh Long province, who has been attached to the construction profession for more than 20 years. At the project, he works as a mason with an income of 450,000 VND/day. Previously, he often went to construction sites in many provinces, sometimes returning home after many months. Now the construction site is only about 2 km from home, so traveling is very convenient, helping him have more time to take care of his family.
Mr. Lam said that being able to work in the right profession right in the locality helps his life become more stable. He no longer has to spend on travel and living expenses as before, while his income is still guaranteed.
Working near home is very convenient. Going to work in the morning, returning home in the afternoon with my family, I have a stable income and am less vất vả (hardworking/struggling)", Mr. Lam shared.
Not only attracting experienced workers, the construction site also creates jobs for many young workers. Mr. Nguyen Phuc Duy, a student majoring in Electricity from An Giang province, took advantage of summer vacation to apply to work in items related to the electrical system with an income of 350,000 VND/day. According to Mr. Duy, the job both helps earn extra income and creates conditions to improve skills and accumulate practical experience before graduating.
Going to work helps me understand more about the actual job, train working style and gain more professional experience. This income also reduces the burden on my family when I return to school," Mr. Duy said.
