Many recent leaked information shows that Apple may bring a series of AI features processed directly on the device to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, instead of relying heavily on cloud computing.
According to MacRumors, iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to use the A20 Pro chip manufactured on a 2nm process to increase performance and improve AI processing capabilities on the device.
Meanwhile, some other leaked sources suggest that Apple is also strongly upgrading cameras and AI features related to real-time image processing.
However, technology experts say that increasing AI direct processing on smartphones may lead to great heat dissipation pressure.
AI on-device tasks often require the chip to operate continuously with high intensity to process images, recognize objects, or analyze context in real time. This can cause the device to generate more heat than regular tasks.
Also because of this, Apple may face a more complex heat dissipation problem on the iPhone 18 Pro Max if the company simultaneously increases AI performance, increases battery capacity and maintains a thin design.
In addition to a more powerful processor chip, recent rumors also suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may be equipped with a battery exceeding 5,000mAh. Some experts believe that larger batteries and high-performance components may make it more difficult to control the temperature inside the device.
Although the 2nm process is expected to help chips save more energy, the actual energy consumption depends on how Apple deploys new AI features on the device.
