On the morning of February 8th, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, the book launch ceremony "Handbook for applying blockchain technology" took place. The event was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association (HBA) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center. On the sidelines of the event, experts, managers, and businesses contributed many valuable opinions at the seminar "Blockchain human resources: Not just the engineering industry".
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, emphasized that blockchain is one of 11 strategic national technology groups according to Decision 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025 of the Prime Minister. Focusing on infrastructure, digital assets and traceability, blockchain is a key tool to promote digital transformation, digital economy and enhance national competitive advantages.
With such great potential, human resources for blockchain are of great interest, including Ho Chi Minh City. According to Mr. Hoa, the locality has training programs on this industry, with the participation of Ho Chi Minh City National University, gathering leading experts to expand in the near future.
He also emphasized that from July 1, 2025 to the end of 2025, the Digital Training and Communication Center - a unit under the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center - has coordinated with units to organize 75 sessions, with the participation of 15,000 people.

These sessions follow the "Digital Literacy" program, aiming to provide basic knowledge and platforms on technologies, including blockchain.
In 2026 and the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City will have more advanced classes in 168 communes, wards, and special zones in the area to be able to apply new technologies in practice.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association, currently blockchain human resources in Vietnam have not met market demand, as well as the development speed of the industry, especially in core technology.
He emphasized that blockchain personnel in Vietnam have good techniques, creativity, and quick learning. But Vietnam does not have a generation of leading experts in this field, many people know about blockchain but mostly self-study, training is available but not widespread, there are many classes from basic to advanced.
Mr. Vinh also mentioned the issue of human resources with AI (artificial intelligence). From his perspective, in the next 5 years, some common intellectual jobs will be completely replaced by AI. But blockchain will not create a similar impact.
Blockchain does not take away anyone's jobs, does not replace people, only replaces the way people work with each other, eliminates intermediaries, optimizes workflows, and creates a reliable platform to build infrastructure and technology on that reliable database.
Blockchain not only does not take away anyone's jobs, but on the contrary, it creates new jobs. Besides, blockchain and AI do not compete with each other but support each other effectively. Blockchain creates a reliable infrastructure, reliable data, and transparent ownership, while AI supports building blockchain applications faster, making blockchain safer," Mr. Vinh emphasized.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, AI will optimize the labor force, while blockchain will redefine the value of labor.
Ms. Tran So Ky, Managing Director of Mexc Ventures, emphasized that the demand for human resources for the blockchain industry in Vietnam is very large. Businesses not only need high-quality technical experts, but other industries such as marketing, finance, legal (legal) and community management... are also lacking talented people.
Therefore, the opportunity for young Vietnamese people is very large. According to Ms. Ky, to be able to meet market needs, everyone must equip themselves with basic to advanced knowledge, communication skills, operations, market research... as well as must take risks because technology is always changing very quickly.
