According to Google, in Gmail there will be an additional option for the Help me write feature called "Polish", to help refine email drafts on web and mobile devices more easily. The added Polish option can turn rough notes into finished drafts or complex drafts with the help of Google's Gemini artificial intelligence (AI).
Besides, Google has also added Help me write and Refine my draft shortcuts on Android and iOS devices. This means that when a user is using Gmail on an iOS or Android device and the email draft is blank, the Help me write shortcut will appear in the email body. Once selected, it opens the entire experience to help users compose emails better.
It is known that the Refine my draft shortcut will appear when at least 12 words are written in the user's email draft. On the other hand, to indicate the additional options available, including Polish, Formalize, Elaborate, Shorten your draft or Write a new one... this shortcut will be displayed below the email body.
Google notes that to activate the menu containing all the options mentioned above, users will have to swipe right on Refine my draft.
This American technology company also said that the new feature is enabled by default and cannot be turned off. Google also confirmed that the Help me write option as well as the above shortcuts are now available on Android and iOS devices.
However, this feature is currently only available to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Business and Enterprise add-ons, Gemini Education and Education Premium add-ons, and Google One AI Premium. For regular users, they probably still need to wait a little longer to receive this smart AI experience.
