Identification and facial grouping have long been considered one of the most outstanding features of Google Photos. However, as Google stepped up AI-powered searches, a familiar shortcut helps users quickly find photos of a person or pet that has disappeared. Now, the feature has officially returned.
On the support page, Google confirmed that recent updates to the Photos app have restored the facial shortcut in the search section.
Previously, these shortcuts were displayed right on the search engine, with representative photos of people or pets appearing the most in the library, allowing access with just one touch.
We have listened to users feedback about making it easier to find photos and videos of people who are important to life on Google Photos, Google said. Therefore, we are adding a facial group shortcut to classic search and Ask Photos on Android, iPhone and iPad.
