Implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Khanh Hoa province announced urgent tasks in 2026 and the 2026-2030 period, stemming from the practical requirements of the locality.
Instead of deploying scientific and technological tasks according to individual topics, the province orients itself to focus on solving major issues that have a direct impact on state management, people's lives and socio-economic development.
One of the key tasks is to build and operate a centralized database on non-communicable diseases and preventive medicine. This system aims to standardize indicators and data update processes, serving the management and administration of functional agencies, professional activities at medical facilities as well as epidemiological research and forecasting.
In the field of disaster prevention and control, Khanh Hoa aims to build a disaster warning map on a digital platform, overcoming the situation of dispersed data on storms, floods, landslides, floods, and saltwater intrusion. The GIS system is expected to be able to update data in real-time or near-real-time, supporting the assessment of high-risk areas and improving response capacity.
In addition, the province identifies the construction of a provincial-level shared data warehouse as an important platform for developing digital government and smart cities. When put into operation, the data warehouse will help connect and effectively exploit data resources; support management agencies to make decisions based on data, reduce duplication in information storage and processing, and expand digital services to serve people and businesses.
Khanh Hoa also chose smart city development in the period 2026-2030 as a long-term strategic task. This model is implemented based on pillars including smart city management and operation; digital infrastructure and urban data; smart public services; connection with shared data warehouses and digital platforms.
According to the province's orientation, smart cities not only contribute to improving the quality of life of people, increasing transparency and efficiency in state management, but also create a favorable environment to attract investment in technology and digital infrastructure; promote the development of the digital economy, green economy, and enhance the position of tourism - service - technology cities.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - told VNA that urgent tasks will be implemented according to specific roadmaps. Agencies and units assigned to preside over are responsible for building a network of experts and partners with sufficient capacity to ensure that "big problems" are feasible, practical and effective.
Clearly defining tasks, output products, expected impacts and responsible units shows that Khanh Hoa is shifting from applying science and technology according to each specific task to solving fundamental and long-term issues. This is also a step to concretize the goal of making science, technology, innovation and digital transformation an important driving force for local development.
