Google Maps has become an indispensable tool in the daily lives of many people. Here are ten essential Google Maps features you should explore.
The route has the lowest fuel consumption
Google Maps helps users choose the most fuel-efficient route to minimize their ecological footprint. To use this feature, you open Maps, select a destination, tap the three horizontal dots in the top right, and select "Route options."
You then select "Lower fuel consumption route" and your engine type such as gasoline , diesel, electric or hybrid. Maps will display the most fuel-efficient route with the default being gas.
Create your own map
Google Maps allows you to create personal maps with specific sights and details. Go to google.com/maps, click the "sandwich" icon in the top left, select "Saved," then "Maps," and finally "Create Map."
Control music while driving
You can control music apps like Apple Music or Spotify directly from Google Maps. Open the Maps app, go to the main menu, select "Settings", then "Navigation" and finally "Music playback controls".
Find a place to park
To find your parking location again, touch the blue dot showing your location and select "Save parking location". Parking locations will be marked with the letter "P".

Departure reminder
Google Maps can send departure reminders so you get to your destination on time. Enter your departure and arrival points, tap the three dots in the top right, and select "Set departure reminder." Choose a time and Maps will send you a reminder.
