Information from the company said that users can chat and assign tasks to Bixby in natural language, similar to how they talk to others or current chatbots.
Users no longer have to remember the exact command or name of each setting item. Instead, just describe what they want.
For example, when saying "I don't want the screen to turn off when I'm still looking at my phone", Bixby will automatically activate the "Keep the screen bright while watching" feature.
In addition, Bixby can now access new and updated information sources on the web. Users can search directly without opening a browser, with results displayed directly in the assistant interface.
Currently, the new Bixby version is only available in some countries. Samsung said it will expand its deployment to many other markets in the near future.
With this upgrade direction, Samsung shows its ambition to bring Bixby back to the virtual assistant race on mobile, in the context that competitors are increasingly focusing on artificial intelligence and natural conversation capabilities.
If it operates smoothly as introduced, Bixby can become a more convenient device control tool, instead of just a less noticed feature as before. However, the level of global user reception will depend on the deployment speed, multilingual support and accuracy when handling actual requirements.
