Tourist boat fire in Cat Ba, 32 people escape

    Hai Phong - Cat Ba Border Guard Station has promptly rescued and fired a tourist boat anchored at Gia Luan wharf, Cat Hai special zone.

    At 10:15 am on February 21, Cat Ba Border Guard Station received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van T (born in 1988, captain of tourist boat HP 5765 SEA CORAL of Sealife Group Co., Ltd. in Le Chan ward, Hai Phong) about a fire on the boat and requested urgent rescue.

    At the time of the fire, the ship was anchored at Gia Luan wharf to welcome visitors to the bay. There were 17 crew members, service staff and 15 foreign tourists on board at this time.

    Immediately after receiving the news, Cat Ba Border Guard Station mobilized 1 motorboat and 12 officers and soldiers to approach the scene for rescue and firefighting. Functional forces continued to notify and mobilize vehicles operating in the area to coordinate rescue and firefighting and bring all 32 people on board ashore safely.

    By 12:00 PM on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, with no casualties.

    Currently, the case is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
