Elon Musk's assets continue to decrease. Despite losing an additional 9.5 billion USD, he still far ahead of the second richest billionaire in the world.

Elon Musk continues to lose billions of USD

According to Forbes data recorded at 6:30 AM on July 28, 2026, Vietnam time, Elon Musk is still the richest billionaire in the world with assets worth 715.6 billion USD.

In the latest update, Musk's assets decreased by an additional 9.5 billion USD, equivalent to 1.32% compared to the previous day. This is the largest decrease in absolute value in the top 8 billionaires in the ranking.

Previously, Elon Musk's assets had decreased from $744 billion to $725.1 billion, equivalent to a "evaporation" of $18.9 billion. Compared to the $744 billion mark, his current assets are $28.4 billion lower.

Despite continuously losing billions of USD, Elon Musk's leading position has not been threatened. His assets are currently 446.8 billion USD higher than second-placed Larry Page.

This gap has narrowed significantly compared to 461.9 billion USD in the previous update. The reason is that Elon Musk's assets have decreased sharply, while Larry Page's assets have increased by billions of USD.

Most of Elon Musk's assets are associated with shares in businesses such as Tesla, SpaceX and artificial intelligence company xAI. Therefore, the billionaire's assets can fluctuate by tens of billions of USD according to business valuations and stock market developments.

Two Google co-founders increase assets together

Larry Page continues to hold second place with assets worth 268.8 billion USD.

In the latest update, the assets of the co-founder of Google increased by 5.6 billion USD, equivalent to 2.12%. This is the largest increase in absolute value in the top 8 richest people in the world.

Compared to the previously recorded 263.2 billion USD, Larry Page's assets have increased by exactly 5.6 billion USD. This increase helps him consolidate his second position and create a gap of 20.8 billion USD compared to the person right behind him.

Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google with Larry Page, rose to third place with a fortune of $248 billion.

Mr. Brin's assets increased by 5.1 billion USD, equivalent to 2.12%. With this increase, he surpassed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to take third place in the ranking.

In the previous update, Sergey Brin owned 242.9 billion USD, about 300 million USD less than Jeff Bezos. Currently, his assets are 5.4 billion USD higher than the founder of Amazon.

The change in ranking shows that the gap between billionaires in the group behind Elon Musk may reverse rapidly, especially when the stocks of large technology corporations fluctuate.

Jeff Bezos drops to fourth place

Jeff Bezos currently owns assets worth 242.6 billion USD, ranking fourth in the world.

The assets of the Amazon founder decreased by $635.2 million, equivalent to 0.26%. Compared to the previous level of $243.2 billion, his assets decreased by about $600 million.

The decrease was not too large but occurred right at the time Sergey Brin's assets increased sharply, causing Jeff Bezos to be pushed down one place in the rankings.

Michael Dell firmly holds 5th position

Michael Dell (Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies) continues to rank fifth with assets of 234.4 billion USD. The assets of the Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies decreased by 2.9 billion USD, equivalent to 1.21%.

The gap between Michael Dell and Jeff Bezos is currently at 8.2 billion USD. Meanwhile, the total assets of the 5 richest people on the planet reach about 1,709.4 billion USD, down more than 2.3 billion USD if adding the fluctuations in the latest update.

In the following positions, Mark Zuckerberg ranked sixth with 203.9 billion USD, down 447.6 million USD. Jensen Huang ranked seventh with 170 billion USD, down 8.8 billion USD, equivalent to 4.91% - the largest percentage decrease in the group 8.
