According to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Electronic Information Portal, the Cau Mua festival of the Dao Lo Gang people, Dan Tien commune (Thai Nguyen) was certified by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in June 2025.
To honor this unique cultural value, recently at Dinh Lang hamlet Na Ba, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Dan Tien commune organized a ceremony to receive the certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The receipt of the certificate is considered an important milestone in the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the province. The Cau Mua festival of the Dao Lo Gang people is preserved and maintained by the local community through many generations. The festival is usually held periodically every 3 years at the end of spring, gathering shamans and artisans who deeply understand national heritage.
The highlight of the festival is traditional dances blended with traditional rituals and sacrifices. Besides, there are Pa Dung melodies with unique musical instrument skills, deeply expressing the identity of the Dao Lo Gang people. This heritage not only carries spiritual meaning, praying for favorable weather and good harvests, but also contributes to strengthening community cohesion.
With the Dao Lo Gang people's Cau Mua festival being honored, Thai Nguyen province currently has a total of 45 heritages in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This is an important basis for the locality to build long-term conservation plans and projects.
